Get a older windows. Even the "replace the d3drm.dll" doesn´t work yet.
but i got it to tell me i´m in game: add a steam_appid.txt with "405900" i it to the root folder.
But overlay and screensotting isn´t working either.
Go, do the Steam integration !!! soon !!!

I'm having the same problem; I loved this game when I was younger, but having the upside down icons is really annoying.

EDIT: If you don't mind playing in a tiny window, you can replace the game's executable with this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1BxsqzJbT1FdDhodlFQRFBTaXM/view

I have the GOG version and running as administrator fixed this for me. Disappointed that isn't fixed here.

I might buy the Steam version in the bundle that was announced today to confirm, but that might not be today.

/edit: correction, add -w to the run options on the shortcut. Can't run fullscreen. Has to be run in a borderless window.

There is one fix to the upside down icons.

Create a shortcut to rebexe.exe to your desktop

Add -w to the end of the shortcut to have it run in windowed mode
(Example "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars - Rebellion\REBEXE.EXE" -w)

Right click on shortcut, Compatability mode
Run at 640 x 480

It should fill your screen but if you alt-tab out you'll still be stuck at starchy tuber graphics

You can do the same with "Properties" on the game and select the "Set launch options" and put the -w in the input window.

It worked well for me, thanks!

That's retarded. Do what Dr. Jones said instead.

I hope they fix it for fullscreen!

Once I've used launch options to launch the game windowed, my build menus in-game don't work. That is, the menus for building ships, troops, or buildings. Game-breaking.

At this point, I can't play the game. :(

I had the same problem. As stated above, right click on the shortcut, properties, compatibility tab and check the box to launch the game in 640 x 800. It will fix the build menus.

Reinstalling the game fixed this problem for me with the GOG version.

You just have to leave the window in the corner and it will work; annoying, but playable, at least. Probably the best we're going to get knowing Valve...

Will this work for Windows 10? When I try to add the -w to the path it wont let me apply it.
Docta Jaaye Mar 1, 2016 @ 11:04pm
I can't get any of the above fixes to work. W10, it won't let me add the -w suffix to the file address either
Blackart Mar 2, 2016 @ 7:15am
Try this it worked for me:

1. Go to game folder -> REBEXE.EXE -> check "run as administrator" and "run in 640x480".
2. Download dgVoodoo v2.5 from here: http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2.html
3. Copy all ".dll" files from MS folder to game folder where REBEXE.EXE is located.
4. Run dgVoodooSetup.exe
5. In "General" change from "Full Screen" to "Windowed - Streched"
6. In DirectX uncheck "Application controlled fullscreen/windowed state".
7. Run the game.
