I didn't see any setting for turning off tutorial, would be cool if it was a thing. But at least the tutorial isn't restricting gameplay, it is just some pop up messages.
Not played in a while, because beating my own record will sooner or later be impossible; there are limits to how fast you can get all genes, simply because for some genes you have to hang out somewhere for x turns. (Never mind random luck with ancient genes.)
I vaguely remember there was some tutorial message that is better followed, or else it gets stuck somewhere. Hm... Been too long. :)
