Worth Buying?
*First of all, I'm not sure if this is the corect place to communicate my question to the community. So, sorry if this shouldn't be here. Just be sure to tell me in the comments ^w^

I've been doing some research about Niche, and so far it seems AMAZING for just an early-release game. One of my favorite YouTubers (Seri! Pixel Biologist!) has been playing it for some time. (And we have many common interests.) So down below I have prepared a list of questions I eagerly want to be answered. :3

-Is it worth buying, while it is only early-access?

-Should I possibly wait for a sale to buy the game?

-Would this be a good game for a animal/plant loving person?

-Is it buggy/laggy for average computers? Or would it need more of a high-graphic computer? (I think not but I want to be sure.)

-If I shouldn't buy it right now, when should I buy it? When it fully comes out or when some major upcoming updates are brought to the game? (Major updates while it is in beta)

I hope I made sense, I'm a noob here on Steam. >O< If you have any questions about my questions, or any other things to mention, please tell me in the comments. I'd appreciate it! ^^

this is the type of game you wait for to be released right now not much is going on but the basic survival/experimenting with breeding stuff... I feel like calling it a berry simulator I am hoping more fun stuff is inserted to make it feel more alive, currently you feel zero connection to anything because they die so fast (yeah i know its part of the game mechanics but eehh)

I would suggest waiting if you're just looking to play instead of testing for the devs and trying to find bugs. But if you want to give your inputs as well on your thoughts, then go ahead. Although the final product will be cheaper than buying for early access. Otherwise, I recommend downloading the demo from their website, which is just as enjoyable.

I've actually survived for more than 30 days in that demo than this version. My creatures all end up dying too quickly, and the lack of variety in new animals found means the chances for inbreeding (same immunity alphabet) meant I end up without many options.

I'd say wait at least for the next update since they willl implement a lot of interesting new things to the game ( i don´t have the patch notes thou) , even if you are hellbent on buying the early access to give your feedback to the devs , waiting for the full release is also an option , though i think that will take too long , even with the active devs.
Honestly , i will suggest waiting at least for the uptade because as of right now the game feels rather empty and very difficult , it used to be easier , as stated in the post above.
I hope i helped

Definitely a good game if you're interested in biology. ;) As to whether to buy it now or wait, I think that mostly depends on whether you like watching the game evolve while you play it. If you haven't tried the demo from the website yet, I recommend playing that to see if you like the game before buying it.

I believe the next update will add water biomes and the ability to explore different islands, so that'll be a pretty game changer.

Thanks for all of your replies! <3 I haven't been able to get on because of tons of homework. Once again, thank all of you!

I've tried it and got bored after two hours. There's very little you can actually do in the game so far, it's basically picking berries, hunting an occasional rabbit or fending off a carnivore attacking you. The creatures have such short lifespans that it's impossible to form any meaningful attachment to them. They don't even interract with each other except for breeding. Once you see every mutation it becomes pointless. Idk, I expected something deeper, something similar to Creatures. Not worth 18,99€ imho.

I don't get why the early access game is going to be more expensive till after Q1 2017. IMO, it's backwards.

i think one thing EVERYONE is saying is there is zero attachment to your creatures in this game, no emotional connection, it's very stattic...the great things about games with creatures you evolve is you grow close to them and their kin...they die way to fast have no authentic animal sounds..lots of things will need to be added to grow this game during early access

Right now, pick it up if you want to actively help out the devs. There's not a lot of features, and gameplay is pretty limited at the moment, so if this game is not 100% your particular cup of tea, you might quickly get bored.

Safest bet is to put it on your wishlist and wait for the official release - that way you'll be getting a finished game with lots of player input, plus the final price will be less than it is now.

^ I agree with Hot Nubile, I bought it hoping to help with the development of the game as I have faith in its eventual completion and because it looked so fun!

If you like genetics, survival, and want to help the developers while knowing that you're only getting a very early sneak peek into this wonderful game then I recommend buying it. If not then wait it out for the finished game, I myself couldn't handle waiting.

@miro

The idea behind this is to have people in the community that really care. People that want to support us and the game. We want people to think twice about getting the game now, even though it's far from being finished. The people that are here now are our pack, they are the people who really care about this idea. We really appriciate you and what you are giving us. Thank you all <3
The game has potential, but I made a video on the game highlighting points that I think are core to the game, and here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGKyhLZOWFo
however while it may seem like i'm bashing the game I do like it and wish the idea of it came across better. I do with the developers my best.
