Transfering unlocked mutation genes to a new game?
Hey, guys! I just started Niche about two days ago and looove this game! I've been playing non stop over my weekend. ><;

And I've tried to do research on the topic question, but I'm redirecting myself from some older Steam discussion look ups to the Wiki and the Stray Fawn website and just getting myself all confused. @_@ So, since I haven't honestly kept up with anything in the game due to not hearing about it until a few days ago and I'm terribad at reasearching, I figured I'd just come here and ask--so sorry if it's been asked before. ><

A little about what I've done in the game so far; I played through the little tutorial in Story Mode to get a feel then deleted the file and immediately started a Sandbox game and unlocked a good bit of genese through it. I want to try a new game, but none of the genes I've unlocked are carrying over and I can't find any sort of toggle-on-off option.

Someone suggested in an older discussion opening the game with the saved genes then directing over to the main menu from it and starting the new game; this didn't work for me. ><

And then I've read that it was a bug but I thought it was...resolved? @_@

Help, please. ^^

I think the only way to transfer it to a new game is for all of the Nichelings to die - then it will say "game over" or something and ask if you want to make a new game with all of the genes from this game or start over.
Hope this was helpful :)

You cannot transfer your unlocked genes to different safe files (yet), there is currently the voting on what to put into Sandbox mode on the official website: https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/forum/70-customization-options-for-sandbox-mode/ where something similar has been suggested. So you can check it out and vote :)

But as said above when your tribe goes extinct you can start from the same bloodline and have all your genes unlocked but only for that safe.
Also you cannot unlock all genes in sandbox mode, round ears can only be unlocked through completing story mode.
