Stuck on "Long Winter"

In StoryMode coming from whale island I had a perfect start on long winter, having 800 food and 300 nesting material. I found the northern ports to be blocked by ice blocks with a message to wait till summer.

Problem is: I'm 100 days on this island and summer never came.

What am I supposed to do to let this ice finally melt. I'm bored and pissed by now every day staring at these iceblocks and see nothing changed.

Help me, please.

Why do you think it's called LONG winter?

100 days isn't that long. I would suggest to play a long session so that the weather doesn't reset everytime you exit the game.

believe it or not, but i got super lucky and my ice blocks melted under 20 days of being on long winter.

Ok thx. I felt like 100 days is way to much and I'm doing something wrong. But reading your comments I waited longer and on day 124 summer came at last.

Admittetly I think the devs said tha 125 is a little bit long and they wanted to fix it. Maybe it won't happen again when the update comes (currently set for end of February but that might only be the testing phase)
