Most Important Trait/Gene
What do you think is the most important trait/ gene to have on a creature overall ?
Ofcourse not all genes are helpful in all environments but- what gene do you find yourself constantly putting on your nichelings ?

I personally prefer cracker jaw because I like to set up camp around trees and also enjoy how it looks . ( Beareyna snout/ berry paw combo is also something I find a lot of my creatures end up having ) .

Claw for me. I love the utility. Fishing, hunting, protecting. Perfection.

Cracker jaw! I've saved many a tribe with that mouth.
Coming in at number two is Digging paw. you can never have too much food lol.

Nimble Fingers. It can collect berries, crack open shells, and gather nuts. Multipurpose with a very elegant look.

nimble fingers . .
I think many will state "cracker jaw" ids the best gene because of cracking open nuts. but nimble fingers gives berries, nuts and clam shells. I just think this helps my tribes more.
for number 2 I say armored body then u don't have to worry so much about predators

i've always been a fan of the armored body. lets you avoid damage from almost everything.

Nimble fingers is really versitile, as it does one more thing than the cracker jaw and it is quite the asset early game .
I think that having both paws open to different genes is more ideal . Because then you could smack cracker jaw, claw, and digging paw all on one guy and get quite a bit more food resources . Which makes up for the lack of berry picking in my opinion . I also feel runners leg does the same job as the berry paw ( albeit less effective ) with the added boost in movement .

I do love berry paw quite a bit still ! Throw it on a poison fang creature and pick from any bush you desire .

Armored body. No more worries about balance bears, apes, killer bearyenas and the like.

Armored body + Bearyena claws- you can survive pretty much anywhere and anything. I have had tribes survive for hundreds of days by whacking berry bushes every time they regrew (no berry picking for them!) and picking off all carnivores attracted to our tribe :)

Surprisingly, Runner's Leg. It's especially useful for traveling since Nichelings go faster and can still collect food. Armored body is also another one.

Stinky tail for sure. Saved my creatures from a lurking carnivore, all because it hated there scent xD
Mammiess Sep 28, 2017 @ 7:08pm
Bearynea claw since it gives so much strength that's usually what my creatures have espically in their in a hard or killer set of islands

Nimble Fingers. Aside from the Mountain biome, I've always gotten food primarily from berries and acorns, and Nimble Fingers lets me do both without needing Cracker Jaw.

Runners leg or nimble fingers, imagine a creature with double no paw but cracker jaw in a savannah this creature would be screwed but a creature with one running leg wouldn't. It can move fast enough awawy from predators, it can collect, it is multi purpose. Nimble fingers can do more but doesn't give the speed which is useful for weaker creatures. So I'll go with runners leg :)

Horns or antlers, it just makes me feel more safe to see them in my creatures. If I happen not to have enough claws or big bodies, they're a nice something extra to have and I don't have to worry about replacing them with other traits like with paws and tails. Not to mention they just look pretty.

Armored body and, of course, runners leg or nimble fingers!

does Digger paw ever do anything? I'm trying to offset larger body with big ears.. the darn things just dont want to breed that way, wonder if big ears are recessive
