Is this a difficult game to get the hang of?

I want to start first by saying I don't mind actual challenge but I don't like games that you have to just learn the hard way because everything is confusing.
With that I am wondering does the game do a proper job of showing you the ropes or is it more like plopping you somewhere with a wave and a good luck?

Thanks for any info. The game looks cool but atm I dont think I wanna jump in a game that just completely confuses new players.

its not very intuitive, the turorial is a waste of time. You really have to watch some youtubes to see what happens.

Yeah, I just guided my sister through the first steps of her game. There is a tutorail which explains the basics leaves out the mutation menu though. It is challenging and you might die at first but I would recommend to keep playing.

As Fuzzy said, the game shows you the basic mechanics, but it doesn't hold your hand and explains everything to you. If you have a bit of knowledge about genetics, you certainly will have an easier time to understand it.

The game does not explain things well and the tutorial is pretty terrible. That being said, a lot of the people that have been playing this game successfully have been pretty young children and they've been doing alright.

I think the main issue is really knowing what each button of the ui does, but everything else about the game should be much easier to pick up.

As the devs said watch lets plays! I went in blind and it took a while to get used to it! dying is part of the learning curve, I can't tell you how many times ive died of hunger, and then when i learnt to manage that i'd die because of bad immunity genes! I've finally got into the swing of things and my tribes last much longer and my main focus is to breed an animal i like the look of!
