does it snow in the first snowy islands?
Kinda sounds a bit redundant, but I'm fairly certain "time spent in a cold climate" for antlers and big body only counts during a blizzard. Also, do I still need to continue north to harder islands after the first set of roots to get to Adam's island? I thought I heard somewhere that I might miss them and skip to hard snowy islands.

Yes, it does snow there. I think you do need to continue north as well, because Adam's island is linked to one of the hardest islands.

It snows on every mountain island.

I think as long as you are *on* the mountain island, the counter increases for things like Big Body and Antlers in the mutation menu.

Yes, you need to clear another challenge, hint: it may be on a mountain island. Keep heading North! (to go to the harder set of islands, which will eventually lead to Crossing island, which takes you to the Home Island. Not sure if you can skip the second challenge (after the first Jungle roots challenge).

I can confirm this doesn't happen, as the Big Body and Antlers were some of the last genes I was trying to get and I spent a lot of time on Long Winter trying to unlock them and wasn't getting days towards them once the snow went away.

It does snow on First Snow, but I think it's a lot less common than on the harder Mountain islands.

Okay, thanks for clarifying that.
So when the screen colour becomes tinted more blue (signifying that it has become colder) then the days will start being counted.
