Friendly Bearyena ideas
Now I've played Niche for... Gosh, idk... Back before each island had it's own element lol. Back before inbreeding was a problem so you didn't have to worry about being sick, etc. Aka, a very- very... Long time ago... So I was thrilled at the idea of taming BEARYENA'S which, well, I have done quite a few times... And yeah, it's cool to get hybrid traits but-

Part of me wishes/hopes they'd do something a little... More? I mean, yeah, you give it food but then it just wonders around randomly like you didn't imprint on it very well. Then when a female wants some attention well, ya' know. eue Can't pass that up- but seriously. Let's get real- besidesthefactyouslaughteredit'smotherbeforeadoptingit.
Wouldn't it be cool if they were like a defense system? Being able to play them would be cool but also OP, so I can see why that would likely NEVER happen. Especially with traits, if you get enough of them on one Niche that's like playing a mini bearyena already on your own. (Trust me, I almost have all of them and it's likely no short of playing an actual bearyena if that was possible.)
I love them but in all honesty I'm a little disappointed, and I hope that's ok to state and speak my mind? ;3; I think it would be cool if they were like a defense system and attacked anything hostile that spawned that it ran into while roaming around. You know, PROTECT it's new family it grew up with. Or even hunt down any prey that spawns (Best it can, I can see it scaring off moles if approached the wrong way like playable nichlings, etc. c: Adds somewhat of a reality challenge to it too.) for the family. I think auto collecting might be a bit much and too easy, so I could see it killing things but your creature has to manually pick up the meat before something else does. However the help would be cool to see a bearyena roaming around mauling everything it can in the name of your family. x'D But leaving neutral rogue nichlings alone or whatever in case you wanted to invite it to your family/pack/clan/tribe (Whatever you want to call your little group. ;3; ) I've noticed some rogues are red while others are yellow, but I think it's only if I marked one say I made the first attack or growled at it. (I think you have to have a bearyena snout to growl though, I didn't pay attention until after almost my whole family had this trait for a few generations) So like... It would be cool if that put like a "Stick em' boy!" act on them. Just like- lets your game and Bearyena know "Hey! I don't like that! Kill them!" so if your bearyena runs into them it'll attack, or maybe even chase them down?

Just a few ideas, I didn't know if others might of thought the same thing when the update came out. "Hey! You can tame bearyena's and breed with them for rare unlockable traits!"
"Cool! I wonder what else it can do!" Tames, it just roams around. "That's it? Wait- and it doesn't even follow me? HEY WAIT COME BACK HERE!!!"
(I don't mind chasing them down, that was just my first impression months ago. x'D)
"So it... Just... Wonders around unless I wanted to breed with it? I mean, I guess that's ok... Better than being a general "Carnivore" that pops up and dooms me now that I can get these traits... Just thought after fighting the adult and taming the baby there might be more to it."
"Nope."
"So that's it?"
"That's it. Good luck making a roaming bearyena army!" : D

As I'm typing this I actually have two and about to get three, a momma spawned with a baby again lol. I'm happy with what's in game, but it doesn't mean I don't think they could be a bit cooler without making things extremely op. x'D The game still needs challenge, but I still think it would be cool to get like a hunter/bodyguard that helps you survive best it can while it's around... I hope this makes sense? ;3;

Thanks to everyone who read this. But PLEASE do not yell at me or start an argument, this was just food for thought. It's ok to comment what you think, but there is a point where it's more arguing than friendly conversation. Thanks for understanding. c:

I heard somebody say that Tamed Bearyenas actually hunt rabbits from time to time, the food, if you don't pick it up, doesn't go to the tribe though. Also I read that a FBY (Friendly Bearyena) actually fought against a normal one. I can't confirm these, though I think one of my FBY's hunted a rabbit once.

Also about the wanderer and rogue thing. The rogue males are red in scent and hearing view and you can't invite them into your tribe, they breed with your females, the wanderers, which can be male or female are marked yellow and can be invited in even after you attacked them or growled at them. Just to clear things up :)
The 'get them boy' feature is a nice idea though and I would certainly like for the FBY to stick around more.

Ahhh really? I don't think I stopped to pay attention to the fact you can't invite rogue males lol. I always just clawed them after they mated with my female if I was trying to keep certain genes around seeing they often have terrible genes. x'D But thanks for mentioning that, even after all this time i'm always learning about Niche lol.

As for the things about Bearyena's, I never knew that. I've seen wild Bearyena's go for rabbits instead of me. (But this was after having a Bearyena face staring back due to the distasteful look. They just kinda growl and quickly move away. x'D Wonder if they consider it canabilisum if it looks like their own mini kind is staring back lol. Idk if they ever ditched just because for a rabbit.) However i've never seen tamed ones go after them, but I also might of not been ever paying attention. ;3; After I tame them I kinda just ignore them unless i'm searching for one to mate with for genes. ;3; Same goes for fighting opposing Bearyena's. While i'm not saying your wrong, I am saying i'll have to pay more attention and see if it's true for myself lol. You saying that though made me smile, gives me a little more hope that they arn't aimlessly wandering and actually doing something out there. x'D

Yeah, I tend to play Niche really fast paced and not pay attention to my FBY so I miss things sometimes as well :D

Jojo is indeed correct! The FBY will hunt "rabills (rabils?)" but they won't go toward your food unless you collect it before they do. I wa hunting down a rabbit and then on the next turn the FBY ate it. I was annoyed .-.

They actually do! My Friendly Beayena hunted down all of the rabbils on my island.

Awwww man. x'D Ahhh ok, i'll have to pay more attention then seeing multiple people are saying the same thing. x'D Guess I just never stuck around close to them to see? They often wander in and out of my tribes senses so I often know where they generally are, even if I don't see them as much. I've also been playing a lot with the bearyena snout so i'm kinda getting used to playing without scent. (Kinda hard to find food though unless it has legs but I somehow manage. x'D)

I always keep my frienly bearyenas around even if they aren't used for breeding they are rabbil control o3o

Ya, keep an eye on them xD

I can confirm that FBY's do fight untamed ones (or at least mine did owo)
Yea, i've been having a bearyena problem on my island XD
Basically, i'm making jungle creatures that have one strength, and suddenly five thousand bearyenas spawn at once, and one was threatening a small group of creatures, and my FBY attacked it! :>
But as for rogue males and wanderers, I cannot confirm >:
