Omg... With a boring Gamepad? Why?
Did you ever play the demo with the Vive Controllers? It feels like you have a real weapon in the hand. It's so real!
With a Gamepad you would destroy the immersion completely!

This. It would be utterly pointless to spend time and money making this game work for a gamepad when it was built from the ground up for motion controllers. Once you've tried with the Vive or Touch controllers, you will understand.

I had my xbox controller connected to the PC and when the zombies hit me the controller shakes.
I did not test if i could look around with it i just unplugged it
ok, apperently my first post was not clear enough,
1. i do not own the game, nor have i ever played it, hence the questions
2. from the trailers i gather you can walk arounnd the map using the vives roomscale, firstly i want to know if if we gan go beyone the max 15ft square area that room scale provides(like cod style nazi zombies)
3. the omni is a treadmill designed to track footsteps, it does this by emluating a gamepad, thus secondly i would like to know if a game pad will be supported and thus the omni will be supported

p.s. due to a lack of physical space i cannot use roomscale, thus i chose to buy the rift and omni combo and was wondering if this game would support that, i do not want to look or aim with the 'gamepad', simply walk around

one more thing, i have tried all 3 vr headsets(vive, rift and psvr) the vive was amazing and motion track cntrollers are the way to go....but i prefer the rift because
1. i dont like headphones above my head
2. the vive controllers dont feel right with the same touchpad as the steam controller, i will much prefer the analogue sticks that come with touch(probally because i like playing with gamepads)

so dont tell me to try the vive controllers..... oculus touch will take care of that.... walking around however....

You don't move around. You are stationary - from the demo.

you cant move? i totally got the wrong idea then, thats a shame, thanks thats what i needed to know.... not worth buying it untill it has a higher discount then......

Correct. You can take a few steps in any direction, but you do not move about the level. You stand in one location and get swarmed in all directions by zombies.

You'd think that but I found the demo so appealing when I played it that I quit out of it and bought the game right away. You certainly should try the demo before making a judgment (that's what a demo is for, right?).

You can move around with room scale but you can't change locations. This should work fine with standing but I don't think the Omni will do much.

i cant try the demo atm.... i dont have motion tracked controllers yet....
thats what you get for buying a rift and for the headphone thing, thats another reason i got the vive instead of rift because the rift built in headphones are terrible

You can easily remove them and use your over the head headphones if you desire. I use over the head headphones on my Vive and it's really no trouble at all but it is a TINY, Tiny, tiny bit more trouble than the Rift in that regard.
still the rifts only head tracking which is just really boring and a hell of a lot of motion sickness!
