Sequel?

Given the ending, you guys are planning a sequel, right?

Well, yes, but more of a sequel the way Final Fantasy does it, rather than a continuation of this story.

People have had a very love it or hate it reaction to AF's ending. I'm working on an epilogue as a free update, but I'm having trouble getting it to a point where I'd be comfortable releasing it...

Regarding the epilogue, makes sense to me. Making something that would be satisfying, without it being a huge labor, but still make people content, would be quite the task, and I think that is very likely a drastic understatement.

It's actually not too terrible, I have an idea for it, but every time I've tried to put it together, I've hated how it's come out... I just can't get it to feel the way I want it to, and it becomes very important if I do include it, so I really do have to get it right...

No doubt. Better to leave it how it is than be unhappy with what you put out to cap it.

I liked the game tremendously! It is honestly one of the best I've ever played on the RPGMaker engine, and literally the best one on the 2003 engine in particular.

I know this is a year later, but I just finished Ara Fell yesterday. I have to say that this game was amazing, considering that I've always been skeptical of RPG Maker games. The epilogue was amazing and left me wanting more. This said, while a sequel would be great, I can also treat the epilogue akin to how Mother 3 ended, where you're left to decide what happens. Either way, amazing game!

Just chiming in with a necro post. I just finished the game today, and all I can say is "WOW!" It kept me glued to it like I haven't been glued to a game in years. I loved it, and I thank y'all for the hard work you put in. While I see that you're planning a sequel (thank you so much, and I VERY much look forward to it), and aren't necessarily planning to make it a direct sequel, I do hope that it isn't set too far in the future from the epilogue so that we can still see our favorite characters that we've grown to love through the story. I also hope that y'all do some time consider making a direct sequel. I would love to play these characters again!

From what I understood, the next game won't have any connection to Ara Fell. I suggest you to check this thread from a dev:

I noticed that when I started reading other posts. I'm not that familiar with Steam's community area since I usually just play games. Once I found out they're making Rise of the Third Power I went to check it out and wishlisted it real quick and in a hurry. I also bought Ara Fell on PS4 so that I still have it if/when my PC has another fart and doesn't want to play games.
