It would be more touching that way then someone you could spend the whole game distancing yourself from. Once I found out that Rui dies I just spent all my other times playing the game avoiding her as much as I could. (Also then you could just save the one you wanted to pursue.) Not that I want them all dead. But I wanted to be able to save the ones I was going to try to pursue.
Not Akira nor Airi, don't even dare. Those two remain innocent!
