It would be more touching that way then someone you could spend the whole game distancing yourself from. Once I found out that Rui dies I just spent all my other times playing the game avoiding her as much as I could. (Also then you could just save the one you wanted to pursue.) Not that I want them all dead. But I wanted to be able to save the ones I was going to try to pursue.

I would call it a canonical ending, in fact, not even an ending because there will be the second part, but yeah, that's it. Don't grieve though, from thorough reading it seems to me that her death will do Yama good. Besides, sooner or later someone will make a mod whereshe lives, I'm actually surprised that no one made it yet. Maybe I just didn't hear of it, maybe people will do it only after release of the second or third part, or maybe no one liked her enough to make a mod about her, and all the mourning was, just like hype, short-lasting.
