Save Editor?
I've been half-seriously trying to find which file in the folder contains the player's information, because I'd like to edit the character a bit.

Not to be a Gary Stu (well, not entirely at least) but I want to try a certain character concept (Mage-Swordsman) and it doesn't seem to be possible to pull off inside the game because of how slowly some of the statistics increase.

I believe it's the .pak file by virtue of it being the only file of that type within the folder, but my computer doesn't know how to open or look at it.

I don't know if there is an editor or a way to edit, but Magic and Blades can be both maxed. I'd recomend Bard, or becoming a Squire and improving Magic as much as you can. Takes a bit of replaying the beginning to get a feel for it. Or go Bard, cause that increases magic, blades, and archry. Though I found I had to focus on Blades or Magic over the other if I wanted to also get my Charm high.

This game will punish you if you try and be a jill of all trades, you have to focus on two stats as much as you can. In the second game I imagine you can improve a third or fouth skill. I wouldn't know though, since the save function isn't working for iOS. >:X
Me too, need one...i refuse to be forced to choose only one or two skill to max,it's dumb...
If it's impossible to access our save and modify our stats to have fun...no more games from that editor for me /:

Choice of Robots was fine but this one is unclear...you never know really if you can do an action or not.

to edit char info, within a game, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\UserID\439770\remote\storePSlostheirPSstate
then edit to your hearts content - can use wordpad to edit - will only edit current game.

Actually, you can get three or four stats quite high in a single playthrough - high enough that getting through the trials of the game won't be a problem. It's also not all that dumb; it's only the first game in a trilogy; would you really expect to archieve total mastery that early? :p

Thank you so much.

Incidentally, there doesn't seem to be one for the sequel. I looked for it's number code (439750) but there's no folder for it.

Well, it is. This is the first game, released around this time the last year. The second game was released recently as you might know too. And the third game will probably be out somewhere around this time the next year...
For the 2nd book, checkout the same savegame folder - the files are just renamed - storePSlostheir2PSstate
Editing stopped working! tonight I edited a game and it worked fine. Then I edited it and it crashed it. I uninstalled and deleted all files, started a new game, then did something simple like adding 10 gold or 5 agility. When I'm online with steam it immedial gives me a :Json Parse Error: Expected" error and requires me to restart the game. When I'm in offline mode, it just restarts it. I copyed the unedited save back to the file and it works fine. I could edit a few ours ago, but now kills the game. Any Ideas?

Can't find the file you mentioned even after installing Lost Heir, also which files should I be editing?
So I did some light testing on this issue, and something I did was change a value (Strength) from 32 -> 62 by editing the files found where synasysm mentioned, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\UserID\439770\remote\ (For those curious, the "UserID" in the C: path should be a string of numbers, just click on it and go down to the corresponding number for the game, which in this case is 439770), but also editing the SAME value of both storePSlostheirPSstate AND storePSlostheirPSstatetemp . My test was to see any file modification date changes and since both of those files seemed to have the same time, I looked for an easy value to change on both and did so relatively quickly (so that Date Modified wouldn't be different in terms of time). So far my game isn't crashing, nor have I experienced anything weird. I'll see if I can load up book two after I finish this experiment. The part I'm currently at to do the changes is choosing the gender of the fletcher's child. I had selected to see the Menu and clicked on show stats before exiting to do the changes. Hope everyone else can get the issue fixed. :hime:
Okay fellas, after many hours of testing, I finally figured out how to make all of it work. Step by step instructions as follows:
1. Go into your steam/userdata/*everyone's number is different here*/439770 The last number is the file you want. Once you open that, you'll see a folder named "remote"
2. Delete everything in the "remote" folder BUT DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDER ITSELF!!!
3. Start a new game in the the FIRST game of the series "The Lost Heir: The Fall of Daria"
4. Close out of the game. Completely close it, so check with "control alt delete" and check your running proccesses to see if the game is running in the background. If it is, click "End process".
5. Install notepad++ (Here is a link) https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v7.5.html
6. Now that you have started a new game, check back in the "439770" folder and you will see 2 files: "StorePSlostheirPSstate" and "StorePSlostheirPSstatetemp".
7. Ignore the "StorePSlostheirPSstatetemp" file and right click on the other file ("StorePSlostheirPSstate").
8. Click "Open with" and search for notepad++ that you downloaded previously.
9. Within notepad++ it will bring up a single line of code. In this line of code you will see stats, such as archery, blades, strength, etc. The stats in the game. Left click on those files and type in whatever number you want WITH A MAXIMUM OF 99. If you type in 100 or over, sometimes the game will bug out and give the OPPOSITE effect and make the stat 0. 99 doesn't matter anyways as you'll get all stats to 100 really quickly by playing the game. You'll notice a "gold" value set to 0 as well. Change that to whatever number you want. I have played through all 3 games with the value set at 50000, and I have been able to purchase literally everything in the game with over 40000 left at the end. I don't know how the game will react to an extremely high value, so to play it safe, I would just keep it at 50000. DO NOT CHANGE CLASS LEVELS OR NUMBER OF ITEMS IN YOUR INVENTORY (Besides gold). This can possibly glitch out your game and cause A LOT of problems later on. So basically only edit stats and gold.
10. Click "Save" and then close notepad++.
11. Reopen the Fall of Daria (Since you've had it closed the entire time, right?)
12. Your game should be at the point where you can choose the rune covered sword, mighty spell, etc. Your "Dream" before awakening.
13. Check your stats and you should see all values at 99. Your gold value will NOT appear until you in the village (No spoilers here ;) )
14. At the end of the game, when you choose to save the file on choiceofgames.com, SAVE IT TO YOUR EMAIL!!! You will not be able to edit these files in later games. (Besides, why would you buy the other two without playing the first :/ )
15. When you load "Lost Heir 2: Forging a Kingdom" click on the load save from the first game and click on "Load a saved character from "Lost heir 1: The fall of Daria" you will then need to click "Retrieve saved games from choiceofgames.com"
16. Your save file from the first game SHOULD still be there, and you will begin the game with your stats and gold from the first game still intact.
17. Done. I wanted to be as detailed as humanly possible because no step by step instructions were very helpful to me. Here you go: Editing The Lost Heir series for dummies.
