BLUE REVOLVER
Enemy can not be hit.
At first... Blue Revolver is a phenomenal shmup and i like it so much :-)
I only have one thing that is unusal to me... some enemies appear at the top of the screen and are not vulnerable as soon as i can see them.. only a few moments later i`m able to hit and damage them. I find it a little bit anoying. In other shmups i can learn the apperance of enemy's and kill them as soon as I can see them (i`m not talking about boss enemy's)
Is this intentional?

I'm not sure what is happening to you but I've put many hours into the game and never encountered this issue. In most cases hitting enemies when they come on the screen is important to getting flourishes.

your observation is correct! some enemies (not all) are invulnerable to damage when they're in the top ~5% of the screen. this usually applies to the smaller "popcorny" type of enemies but as with everything, there are exceptions

this is actually not an uncommon mechanic in arcade shmups -- for example, scoring a particular boss in battle garegga requires waiting for its entirety to drift below this line of invulnerability so that all parts can be destroyed at once.

i found it gives these popcorn enemies a bit more time to space out and do something (and its not much fun if enemies are exploding off-screen!) but i'm not particularly happy with the way this mechanic is implemented and would probably do it differently in future projects
