I'm sorry, but i was never able to find out anything more about this rare bug -- one person was seemingly able to fix it by setting their default audio device in Windows (and possibly disabling other devices), but I don't even understand how that would help in the first place, and you appear to have tried it already (as well as anything else you could reasonably try).
Could you tell me more about your machine's audio setup? Do you use onboard audio or a sound card? Do you use a USB headset or an audio jack? I would like to be able to narrow this bug down more.
Other than that, I would recommend requesting a refund through Steam. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'm playing on an Alienware 17 R4. No upgrades or anything not standard.
When I first played Blue Revolver 2 or 3 years ago music/voices worked fine. It's only been this time, a couple years later, that I've had this issue.
Don't have much else to help narrow it down unfortunately... I'll delete my save files and try a few other things. If something changes I'll let you know.
i'm facing a similar situation as the op of this thread. when i play audio for this game with headphones through my external sound card (an epos gsx-1000), the sound effects work, but the music and voices do not work. i have tried messing around with in-game settings and the config file, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling my sound card's drivers + general software multiple times to no luck. i've also tried out my sound card in other usb ports to no avail. i have zero issues with audio from other sources (e.g.: other games, videos, music files) with my sound card. curiously, the music + voices play when i use a different audio output device.
if it helps any, my pc is an alienware area 51m (the first version) with an intel i9-9900k cpu and a nvidia rtx 2080 gpu running windows 10 home edition.
any and all help / pointers would be appreciated!
