One file failed to validate

I've made a few discussions with no success about my loss of music upon finding a game. Perhaps it is this file that fails to validate. UNinstall/reinstall does nothing to change that 90% of the time, I lose all sound for f13 when a room is found

Have the same issue , only i cant get past the start menue. Turned off antivirus and brandmawser , reinstalled , still failed to start the game. Official forums have no solution.

Just verify the integrity of game files and it should reacquire it.

Try "Verify Cache integrity", restart Steam or sometimes the computer itself.
I often get "missing files privileges" when updating for example, and it doesnt change 'till i res' my laptop.

I did that like 10 times , if its "varify integrity of game files" you are talking about. Every time it says "1 file failed to validate and will be reaquired".And then nothing happens , no download , no nothing. You can varify 10 times in a row and its allways 1 missing. Reinstalled it yesterday right after download , still 1 missing. Already sick of this game be4 i even played it =/

Hmm weird...
Do you have any info which file it is exactly by chance?
Maybe someone can Drop-box you a copy of it or something :(

Try clearing your download cache before and after validating files.

Can you tell me how to do that? I have windows 7.

In the steam browser, go to Steam at the top left and click settings. From there go to downloads and click 'Clear download cache' at the bottom.

Gonna try to reinstall with every security measure off , if that failes im getting a refund and buying DBD even tho i like 1/4 much less then 1/8.

New version of microsoft visual c++ solved my problem.

My game seems to work well but if I start "verify integrity of game files" it always end having 1 file to validate....it's really strange.

To me the game runs smoothly and randomly crashes either gives "fatal error" or gets stuck there unresponsive. On the file integraty check via Steam, there's 1 file missing to validate and it doesn't get resolved, even tho it says it will be restored...
