I have over 300 hours on Xbox, Einstein. Don't see how that's relevant to the topic though. The game is being taken away, so everyone should get a refund, regardless of time spent on the game.
I understand you, my friend, but put your emotions aside and think........
First of all...
forget that you are buying a game. That is a big mistake today. It has always been true.... you are only buying a license.... more precisely, it means: the right to run and use a program/game/movie on a certain device/PC, PS5..../
1. The price of the license is set by the owner.... but that does not mean that you are obliged to buy it for the maximum price/60 dollars/Today, used licenses are also sold second-hand or at discounts, so you need to consider what price you are willing to pay.
2. The license can be terminated at any time by either party. If you do it within a certain period, you will get your money back. If the license owner does it, it is up to him what period of use he will accept as a refund.
In this case, no one will refund you anything because you have exceeded 2 hours of play or 2 weeks since purchasing the license / this is determined by the STEAM rule /
3. The license owner will not refund your money because he also lost the license. He owned the license to use the content of the Friday the 13th movies. The original owner would have to refund the money .... but he took out insurance and put the license expiration date there, so GUN will not receive anything.
But GUN also published a year ago that the license for Friday the 13th ends on December 31, 2024, so if you bought the license in 2024, you must have known that it would end. So in this case, you will not receive the money because the license expiration date was publicly known.
Maybe you bought the license in 2017 when the game was released. But in that case, what I wrote in point 2 applies
Maybe now it finally dawned on you that buying game licenses for 60 euros/dollars is stupid. But don't worry, it will get worse. There will come a time when we will pay monthly licenses for programs/games and then that will be a problem. Microsoft is already figuring out how to force people to pay monthly for using Windows/Win 365/And this is what awaits us with games.
I'm aware of how licenses work; however, we're only now seeing these get revoked. Imagine Valve stepping into your house and breaking your physical copy of Half-life 2. That's absurd, right? Yet, they're digitally allowed to do this. They're taking away my game, so I want my money back, as I can no longer use it.
yeah the devs did not patch the game to make it playable after the shutdown...they even made it worse and broke the achievements in 2023.
But now atleast we have the community online fix, so you can still play if you want
Uh... you realize many games go offline that were online only, yeah? Online games that come and go don't get refunded generally.
