Running Out The Clock Intentionally
I'm trying to understand this strategy that I often see in games involving members of a certain eastern culture (that I shall not name).

Their strategy goes something like this --

Step 1. Pick Buggzy/Vanessa/Adam
Step 2. Sprint around the cabins as fast as possible, collecting all the health sprays/pocket knives and high-stun weapons as possible.
Step 3. Proceed to hide from Jason as long as possible. Avoid making any attempt to escape. Avoid making any attempt to complete an objective.
Step 4. When found, either use weapon to stun Jason or a pocket knife to escape grab. Avoid making an attempt to lose Jason. Sprint to the nearest cabin and wait for Jason.
Step 5. Repeat step 4 until death occurs or time expires.

Like I said above, I'm trying to understand the logic for this type of gameplay. They're not really trolling anyone, as I've never seen these types of players hinder game objectives or other counselors. I'm just...baffled. Is it like a matter of personal pride or something, knowing you can survive the full 20 minutes?

its a time waster strat plus an automatic win in 20 mins makes this a very appealing strat for solo survivors

If Jason chases counselors who are good at kiting in this way, it buys significant time for other counselors to secure objectives. This is a big part of Vanessa's game plan, and it's part of what makes her such a good pick.

I'm not talking about players intentionally kiting Jason around so others can do objectives. I'm talking about players that will literally do nothing the entire match (including escaping via cops/car/boat) except hoard spray/knives/stun weapons at the beginning and then sit and wait for Jason to come find them eventually.

What I'm talking about here is thus -- cops have arrived on scene. All other counselors either dead or escaped, yet a Buggzy and Adam sit at the cabin closest to the cops and just...wait. When Jason finds them, if he doesn't manage to kill them, they'll run not to the cops but to the next cabin...and wait for Jason.

Its the oddest thing to me because they're actually giving up a ton of points playing this way.

Rule of thumb: If you can't kill them in two mins, move on. That is a battery/gas can found and installed.

Any cabin with that long dinner table and you don't have shift yet, don't bother.

If you can't cross through the middle of a lounge/table/whatever, don't bother.

I've had players do this. Many do the ol' run around the blue car (Adam, Chad or Bugs). Easily place a trap or 2 down once you know their running path. I eventually killed a Chad after 3mins running around a car, but he was 1/2 left and the other just hid. #EasyKill
