Pamela Voorhees, his mother, and the killer from the original Friday the 13th, Jason is the product of poor management by camp counselors plus hormornal overdrive. You might appreciate the game more if you watch the movies. I'd say watch 1-4 and 6-9, Part 5 gives you a bit more insight on Tommy Jarvis, but Jason isn't the actual killer in that movie, but it sets up what he does in Part 6 to *spoiler alert* bring back Jason, but the others will give you general background on Pamela, Jason, Tommy Jarvis, and the maps of course, from Crystal Lake (Pt. 1) - Packanack (Pt. 2) and Higgins Haven (Pt. 3)

Then again, I like all of the Friday the 13ths, always have, more so as a kid growing up in the 80's, they are the epitomy of what the 80's campy slasher flicks are about.

Wow some people. You know it's possible that some people have seen all the Friday the 13th movies. Seeing as how the mother thing was only really relied on heavily in part 2 and FvJ, it's not unreasonable to have someone not know.
