tips for beginners
For those of you who are new to the game.

Do not hold your breath when hiding. Jason will instantly know where you are hiding if he's in the cabin with you. Only hold your breath ONCE when jason cuts the power and the counselor is about to yell. Also hold your breath (not repeatedly) when you have high fear levels so your counselor wont yell out things like "did he see me???".

another tip is if jason is walking straight towards your hiding spot just run out quickly cause it isn't worth getting caught while hiding.

Now this tip is very important. Do NOT escape alone as Tommy Jarvis cause you will earn more points if you save others or sacrifice yourself.

DO NOT run unless you're being chased by jason. Just jog also don't use up all of your stamina. I usually only run from jason when he is shifting or is right behind me. Be aware of how much noise you're making (The white ring that pops out on your marker on the minimap)

If you spawn at the phone box cabin (You will see a box that blinks red) You have to hide very fast cause most jasons tend to first teleport to the phone boxes to set up traps there.

When you're Jason don't spam e when breaking down doors hold e.

Also don't be afraid to whack people to death if you keep being pocket knifed.

As a counselor as for now you can often find pocket knives and guns at small camps with the tents.

Broken windows will hurt you when going through them (maybe not when going slowly but it IS gonna hurt if you jump)

Always escape to the police if available. boat and cars are very risky escape methods. Imo boat is the most dangerous one cause if jason throws you out of the boat you're dead.

I think you should make a guide to get the most beginners people to read this.

also put more tips like 1.know your control mapping before playing,

2.If you find a a item for cars/boat/phone and don't want to take it to there but need other people to know grab the item and hold z to have it display on the maps.

3.If you want to try to increased chances of playing Jason go to customize than spawn preference

Overall good tips, but I'd say "do not use hiding spots at all". If Jason's near you, he's gonna hear you scuffle under the bed or open the closet and know where you went. If Jason's not near you... well, then you don't have a reason to hide, do you?

- Don't panic if Jason instantly teleports to where you spawn. He's not a threat until he gets shift. As long as you don't run into his arms or waste all your stamina by sprinting away, you're gonna be just fine, even if you're a fat and out of shape character. Just have an escape route ready, search drawers and don't leave before Jason's actually getting into the house/going for you.

- Stealth is useless with experienced players - good Jasons doesn't go for the noise pings. Still, conserving stamina is the key to being an strong, independent counselor who needs no teammate. Don't sprint unless Jason's shifting or you need to put some distance (like a couple of metres, not half the map) between you.

- Don't ever lock the flimsy doors. Jason breaks them down in one hit regardless and those doors are super awesome for rage trolling and/or avoiding shift later on.

- A good perk is love, a good perk is life.

- Broken windows will eventually hurt you even if you climb through them slowly.

- If you see an objective item, pick it up and, if you don't want to carry it, drop it, so that others can see it on the map.

- If you hold an objective item and get chased/get into the car/boat, drop it on the spot, for reasons that should be obvious.

- Rage Jason is best Jason. 1. Grab good stun weapon. 2. Close door behind you. 3. Jason bursts in. 4. Smack Jason in the face and stun him. 5. ??? 6. Profit! Go to next house/room and repeat. Good Jasons will avoid it by stop using rage or going through the walls instead. Most Jasons won't.

- Be selfish. If you're gonna spend your first time in the game helping others, you're gonna have a bad time. Don't risk your neck for other counselors. Focus on learning the game and having fun. You can (but don't have to) care about the rest when you're good at the game. My motto in life is "if I fixed the car, I'm leaving in the car. If you fixed the car, I might still be the only one leaving in the car". It never fails.

I just wish newer players would stop leaving doors open or locking the doors with a window. :steamsad:

Leave all the doors to cabins open, sprint everywhere you can, hoard all the pocketknives, close windows, repair even with 1 repair character, its okay if you mess up Jason will come give you a big hug :3

The sad thing is is I actually do over half of those things.

I Sprint everywhere at hoard knives, and repair with low repair characters.

Yeah, I repair as Tiffany and Buggzy all the time because someone has to do it. Got used to it and now I don't fail the 1/10 Repair skillchecks anymore in most cases.

Another important tip to counselors is don't forget to call Tommy.

For some reason it hasn't been happening in a lot of my games recently.
