Friday the 13th: The Game

View Stats:
This is an indie game.
This game is not AAA, that is established. But I just see people flaming the devs. I actually enjoy the frustation this game can bring knowing its not "finished", and that it does need work. At least it has more time and opportunity to grow. Concepts and mechanics can be implemented and changed for the better. It's a process, I understand professionally a business needs to meet the demands of its consumers. Yet I can't help but feel at times this playerbase becomes too hostile toward the devs; at least the steam community. Its no wonder its difficult for them to communicate with us.

Yes , devs are fine , best devs i seen for a while (no joke) also the game is currently (look at roadmap) 50% done , beside that its already pretty good , also the original ideas they had can still be happening , such as a space map and jason x etc , way more game modes.
In their early Kickstarter notes u can get an idea about how many possibilities there still are :)

Def worth my time.

Agreed!
I saw you play with Randygbk (Randy Greenback) in the latest devstream in F13. Congrats surviving as Jenny. :)

I agree with you 100% btw. People get too pissy about things way too quick. Though keep in mind it takes the devs months on end sometimes to release an update, you can understand people's frustration. I even stopped playing the game for the lack of content. It just became distasteful but i WILL be hopping back on for the December update when it hits. :D:

F13's Steam community is known for being toxic most of time time too. This is nothing new. The devs don't deserve as much hate as they get. Go on their social media and you'll see someone complain EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Every damn time they release an update on the game.

The main reason the devs don't communicate with us much is because they don't want to make promises, only to break them later on if they can't keep them. Like you say, they're a small company. They can't hit deadlines every time, dissapointments is guaranteed from Indie Games that are hyped up as much as this one is.

Then it should be sold for indie price, not $40

Thank you so much! Jenny is my favorite counselor to play as lol and hopefully if you friend me we can play together sometime soon! And yes, I do agree, I can somewhat understand the frustration as it does take a while to get things going, but you're right, they don't deserve the amount of salt they get on the social media threads, I've seen them myself it's not pretty lol

They're using the license of Friday the 13th, one of the most popular franchise names of all time, how else could they make a profit to keep servers and content going?

Sent you a friend request. :)

Probably won't be playing F13 any time soon though until the update drops. It's just gotten stale for me at the moment and i have no incentive to play the game other than to play Russian roulette and try to become Jason. :( (i've reached the max level in-game. You get no rewards whatsoever after that other than more customization points, which isn't anything special.)

But yeah, the toxcicity of the community on a game like F13 loved by horror fans everywhere is just downright pathetic. It's a game, why take it so seriously or get so angry about it?. Not like it's an ultra-competitive shooter or anything.

And I accepted :)
I agree, with reaching max level and the community, it can make it hard to play when everyone is treating it like CSGO or something haha

As much as I hate the bugs in this game that ruin the fun and the pointless dlc in emotes, but I'l let them go since this game can be fun and is still fun with friends. Soon Jason is getting buffs in the next patch, virtual cabin 2.0, Offline Bots, and Singleplayer Demo.
I love how they recreated the scenes from the films and it actually felt like they actually visted these places, this is the same with Jasons also.
Part IX my favorite designed of Jason has my favorite kills and his stats matches perfectly how he was in the film (even though he was barely in it), Harry did a fuc01king good job with the soundtrack in this game, the soundtrack makes this game feel like it came from the Friday The 13th movies and not a fan story.
This has problems, but the next patch hopefully fixed them and add more content to this game.

The Soundtrack is amazing, I do hope they actually add more into the game later on. The locations are surreal, you're literally in the camp from the movies. The attention to detail on both the maps and the Jasons is superb. I know the next patch will tidy up some things!

Hopefully so also almost forgot they got Tom saivni and Kane Hodder back for the series. Now that's what I call true fans.

I agreed, although this game has game-breaking bugs, little bit of an toxic community and controversy between players and the developers, but this game is still fun and well-crafted game made by indie developers.

Yes, because essentially it's that gameplay experience that keeps people coming back after everything else lol and with the right people it can be thrilling! Lol
