How fun is this game solo
I plan on buying it for myself, and my friends might come along and play with me, but I'm assuming I'll be the only one to play it. For the most part I've heard the game loses a lot of its fun when playing by yourself, but I figured I'd ask here to get a better idea.

Like most asymmetrical multiplayer games, it gets old fast for some, friends make almost anything more enjoyable by default.

Being jason alone is fun as hell. Playing as the fodder by yourself is not.

If you use your mic (and don't sound like a child) you'll find alot of people willing to joke around and have fun with.

I've done solo my entire time. I've had fun.
It's like a 7/10 solo queue, like a 9/10 with friends.

1. The more friends in your group, the more people you're going to be able to communicate with, whether because you like talking to them, or you speak the same language.

2. When your friend gets Jason, or you get Jason, it's a completely different experience than when you're in a room with a bunch of random people, and at least a couple people do nothing but troll and yell at you.
My mic stopped working for a couple of days and still currently is and honestly i'm still having fun solo. If you listen to other people on their mics (if you don't use one yourself because thats ideal) you can still accomplish the tasks because you know whats going on so it's still worth it.

I've spent about 40-50 hours playing alone, so yes it's very fun alone. You also might make a new friend like I did by just being nice and helpful. For the majority of that time I didn't use a microphone either.

If you're someone who needs a lot of commentary, then yeah you probably will lose interest fast.

People overestimate the microphone option, and soon they will probably have a communication system for objectives that will be way more efficient. So far only two people have told me anything useful while on mic.

Most of the time the most useful thing they will say is that they have gas, without telling you where they are or where they are going, or they'll say that Jason is coming, without telling you which direction he's coming from. People rarely use it to tell others where the fuse box is, which is what can be hard to track down in this game.

Common sense is what should guide you. I've escaped so many times without a mic, or at least helped in an escape because this game isn't really complex after you learn the maps.
