Just watched the Slash'N'Cast today and Wes said there is no possible way Germany will have this game for launch. Just wanted to let people know incase any Germans are here.

Du USK bewerten ungefähr so:

Okay, so I don't speak or read German so...uh...

Here's the deal with Germany so far:
1. We were originally refused classification.
2. We appealed and were granted a provisional USK18+
3. On the last day of appeal from the government side, someone made an appeal.

I cannot discuss more at this time, but we're very hopeful that the appeal will retain the USK18+ rating. We won't know for a while.

Unfortunately this means it's unlikely the game will come to Germany on launch day with consoles.

I told them that I am currently applying a game to the USK too. Also we think that it can't be that bad ;). I mean- Mortal Kombat X is very brutal too (like DOOM for example) which features Jason, too. Even BF1 got an USK 16 instead of USK 18. Well, let's see what will happen ;)

You say consoles, but what about Steam? Will we be able to buy it on steam at launch day?

Is there a chance that PC players can play at launch? At least the backers?

We think that not getting a 18+ rating doesn't mean that its completly prohibited to sell in Germany, at least for the digital version on steam.

Ya for some reason Germany and austrailia have really strict gaming censorship which makes no sense at all. Now i do think its messed up if there were german backers and kickstarters and that they should be compensated for hearing about this at the last min. thats crap man.
Huh... I never would have guessed. Why couldn't someone from Germany simply order a copy of the game from the U.S., install it on their computer, and play it? I understand that with consoles they may have different coding, as in DVDs, that would prevent German players using U.S. game discs, but if they have a PC they should be fine, no?

It's most likely that you will need a VPN to play/start the game. Dead Island for Example: I've bought it through a keyseller but everytime if I want to play it steam says: This product isn't available in your country. So I need to use my VPN to start and play online.

Its possible, but the devs made the bad decision to publish it what ever it cost with the USK 18 Seal.
So, if the game is banned in germany...what about the people who already pre-ordered it? Also I can't access the store page of other blocked games like AvP or Dying Light, while I can indeed access F13. Really hope it will be available in germany, waited so long for it and now that...

If you're unable to get it at launch and it looks like it's gonna get banned you can ask for a refund. Just email one of the Gun Media devs. Or you can wait it out and hope it gets unbanned.

This. In the podcast Wes said they will be offering refunds to those who want it or you could wait and see what happens. The choice is yours.

Gerade im Discord gelesen:

[GUN] Ben - heute um 19:35 Uhr
Germany happened like this:

1. We were refused classification.
2. We appealed and got USK18+
3. Someone said 'waitaminute' and they are appealing our appeal.
4. Everything is under review.

[GUN] Ben - heute um 19:35 Uhr
We are confident we'll get a rating for Zee Germanz, but it's going to take some time.
