They might get some interest drawn to their game from members of the LGBT community, but then they would have to deal with the backlash of the annoying conservative religious community.
Although, I'm sure the day is one day coming where game devs will be scrutinized/demonized for games not including LGBT elements into characters and character creation.
I suppose you could always just kind of make up your own backstory for a counselor and say they werent born whatever gender theyre portrayed as in the game.
Thank you for making that reference. It was bugging me nobody had yet.
Well even if i have to get it separately it's still cool
As for the movies. There weren't any transgender persons. Despite your personal preference, this is really a petty request. Why not a person who is blind? Or a light skinned person who identifies as black? How about a midget? To request a counselor to be something for the sake of being it, is honestly lame.
As for the Sleepaway Camp DLC. It isn't happening and the person was making a joke. Maybe you're familiar with the movie's backstory, but if not (spoiler alert), the main character turns out to be a woman whose torso was surgically attached to a male's lower half.
Know why?, because it's going to cause flame-wars. Any topic like gender, politics, religion starts flame-wars .... ALL the time. I don't want these forums to be clogged up with anti-LGBT crap.
Not like i really care if the game is LGBT in general, not like i care about LGBT at all ..... keep the equality and diversity crap to real life instead of video games. It ruins the experience when you add personal stuff like that to it unless it's a game purposely directed around drama or the main character is repeatedly said to have such things.
So yeah .... trans-counselors = a bad idea
Hopefully you don't think I'm starting a flame war on the topic. I don't think trans-counselors is a bad idea. I just don't think it is necessary for the sake of doing it. If the devs were trying to recreate a character from the series, good.
But the thing is, we don't even know what the counselors in the game are. To bring up that one is transgender would feel forced anyways. For all we know, every f*cking one of them could be transgender. I just feel this whole topic is about advertising awareness for something important to the OP and not about the intellectual property itself.
Basically what i was trying to say, thank you for summing it up.
Agreed, poor Mark in the wheelchair got his face chopped by Jason in part II .... then continued to hilariously wheel down a flight of stairs for authentic effect.
At least if they add a wheelchair counselor it'll be authentic and true to the movies i guess.
His tombstone read "Here lies Mark. Jason took his life, but he couldn't take his center of gravity."
