I'm with that and support from WB games is pointless, I've tried the ideas, I found here, and haven't worked for me.

I tested something I saw in a different discussion in portugese and it worked.

Go to the game files and delete the GUI3 folder. Then start the game while not connected to the internet.

Unfortunately, when I closed the game and restarted it while connected to the internet again it crashed again so it's not a permanent fix.

you can do better, just block the game in the firewall, then u don't have to redo the gui3 thing. here is a link to easy tutorial for windows: https://www.esecurityplanet.com/networks/how-to-block-program-in-firewall/

Had the same issue and blocking with the windows firewall didn't work.

What did work was going to the "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\LEGO STAR WARS The Force Awakens\GUI3" folder remove the content and change the permissions on the GUI3 folder to read only.

Check my solution, works after restarting the game.
Probably no DLC though...

Empty the folder and make it read only via the permission. Then it gets past the online part
