Player 2 Controller not working

I played this game for a while, so i decided to have my friend over to play with me, but when i plugged in his controller with mine he couldnt move, he could join but not move, anyone know a fix for this

FIX;

using player 1s gamepad >Options > control setup (here u will see that player 2s setup is using the keyboard) > scroll down to "change device" > before you press anything move right so the player 2s side is high lighted > then press A > then press any button on player 2s pad > Accept .
