How to Activate red bricks once you've bought them?

Does anyone know how to do this? Every other Lego game I've played ever just lets ou activate them through the EXTRAS option in the pause menu...which isn't there in this game. Any thoughts? Thanks x

Hold the button you use to change character and there should be a red brick in one of the slots

Use the character change button (default keyboard is "U"). Then select the red brick in the lower left. This brings up the red brick screen showing which ones are available, unavailable, and purchased. As with other lego games, this is where you purchase the bricks. What is different this time is that this is also where you activate purchased bricks. Simply navigate to a purchased brick and select it (default keyboard is "J"). A check mark will cover that brick indicating it is active.
