Low volume on voices. Not sure how to fix
I have my computer hooked up to my Sony 7.1 surround receiver. I have 7.1 enabled through windows sound settings and as far as I know it's configured correctly. Movies and games seem to play with the surround sound enabled and I have never noticed an issue before.
However with this game, even though surround seems to be working (lasers fly by, voices in the background, etc) when the characters talk, which would be the center channel, the voices are super low. If I turn it up enough for them to be at the right level then everything else is ridiculously loud.Anyone know what the issue might be?

No one else with this issue?

Unforutnately, I haven't found a fix either. I have a 5.1 set up and the voices are noticeably quiet.

I really think it has to be the game. I haven't noticed it with anything else. I also noticed that it isnt even coming out of the center, the voices are coming from the left and right speakers which is strange.

Yeah, same issue with my 5.1 system. The sound mix isn't great, they should have put all the voices through the centre and boosted them, because they really get drowned out at the moment.

You can change manually music and FX volume in PCCONFIG file. My PC 5.1 speaker system works fine with this game.

Changing music and fx volume doesn't fix the problem. All the other sounds are fine except the voices, if you turn up the volume enough to hear the voices clearly then everything else is way too loud.

If its working just "fine" then great, but you obviously don't understand the issue either

Voices muddy here, too. Props to getting actual cast to do VO work, but it sounds like they had them record under a blanket in a closet. No ideas on a fix.

I understand the issue very well, because I have this problem on my PS4, so much so that I have to turn music off. It's been a problem with LEGO games on my PS4 from day 1. The only difference between my PC and PS4 is that the PS4 is hooked to a home theatre via HDMI and PC has it's own set of speakers. I can hear voices on my PC well but not on my PS4.

I just wonder why they seem to not have the voices on the center channel. On my 7.1 setup they are coming out of the left and right, and not at all out of the center. I really don't think it's my setup because all other games and movies work as they are supposed to.

Here's to hoping they fix it in a patch.

Maybe the game has problems working with your 7.1 set-up. Have you tried to experiment by disabling two rear speakers and see if the voices are sent to the central speaker? Also, keep in mind that sometimes voices coming from NPC located either right or left of the screen might be sent to the corresponding speakers (but not the central one).

Ill try that when I get home to see if it changes things. But so far every single voice in cutscenes has been coming from the left and right channel
I have another issue, for me I can change volume of music and environment but voice level stays at the same. So I can turn down whole volume except for the voices, which are freaking loud. When I am trying to watch youtube or netflix w/e at the same time it is f***ing annoying
