Vibration on wired Xbox One controller
Right.. so even after the last titles had this issue I would have hoped TT games to have solved this by now.

But here it is, yet again. The genuine Microsoft Xbox One controller for windows has ZERO vibration. I have tried the 'disable all other HID devices' trick but nothing works. I know this is the millionth time this has been discussed but has someone out there got any idea how to get it working.

I've heard that a DS4 on Motionjoy does get vibration but I did not buy a controller FOR windows for naught. So far only the LEGO games suffer from this strange behaviour as i have vibration on any other game i can think of.

So.. any ideas?

Fun game none the less let me add.

UPDATE:

A WB support ticket was answered with the following statement:

"Thank you for contacting WB Games Support.

I tested this issue on both the Xbox 360 controller and the Xbox One controller here on our test machine, and it does appear that the Xbox One controller does not support the vibration feature. This may be due to the fact that the 360 controller is the official supported controller for the game, however I would be happy to pass this issue along to our development team for their consideration."

So they acknowledge the lack of vibrations on the Xbox One controller. This also means that the remark on the store page "full controller support" is not acurate.

Hope they will fix it anyway.

I have a vibration on my Xbox 360 controller, so it must be something wrong how a controller is handled by the OS. Is it Win 10? How it is displayed in Device Manager? As Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller. If neither, maybe that could be a problem, because it would handle it like a generic controller (e.g. Logitech) that requires a vibration to be turned on manually.

It's on WIn 10 x64 Pro. It's listed in device manager under HID Devices as an Xinput compliant controller and under a seperate tab named Xbox Peripheral and then just plain xbox controller.

I tried my daughters Xbox 360 wireless controller today but that also gives zero vibrations. I'm realy at a loss here and although it's not gamebreaking it's just friggin' anoying knowing you have a decent controller that has FFB in all other games except the latest LEGO titles.

I tried some wonky seperate driver files for the 360 wired but that did'nt do it as well. What's else is that it seems a real problem for everyone with a Xone controller in TT games but there's suprisingly not much to be found on the internet.

Ah well here's hoping someone can come up with a fix or TT games gets it sorted eventualy.

EDIT:
Like with LEGO Jurrassic Park i've submitted a ticket to WB games. Hope it will matter this time because it did not the last.

So I need an One controller then to not have vibrations, aight, good to know. I don't like vibrations, playing with wired 360 pad here and I really dislike that I can't turn it off.

As I thought, it was not properly detected. I wonder why MS can't fix that. A vibration worked for me only on the wired Xbox 360 controller, but never on the wireless one. This is MS problem. I've never tried with Xbox One controller.

I think you are absolutely right and although most modern games support the One controller just fine the TT Games engine used for LEGO games seems outdated. I've gotten a response from WB support whre they tested the Xbox One controller with no vibrations.

The wired 360 does work. They have passed it on to tech support but i'm not confident this will be fixed soon. I'll update my OP with the response from WB.

Bump.

I think the disabling HID trick only works in Windows 8.

Right now I'm playing it with my PS4 controller using DS4Tools and the vibration adds a lot to the game, but I would love playing the game with my Xbox One Elite controller instead. First world problems, right?

Anyway, it's really a shame that after many LEGO releases they still didn't figure it out (more like they don't care). Past LEGO games doesn't have this problem (LEGO LOTR vibration works fine with my xbox one controller) Even indie games don't have this problem!

I know this post is old but I would just like to mention a fix for vibration on xbox one controllers:

Bought this game ages ago and finally got around to playing it since the new game is about to come out. I just came across the same issue of vibration not working on xbox one controllers but I just created a workaround fix for it!!!

Firstly you will need to download a xbox 360 controller emulation software called x360ce at https://www.x360ce.com/

Once you have downloaded that and made sure the drivers are installed from the software, connect your xbox one controller to your computer. If the software is working correctly, the controller movements should be displayed when "Get XInput State" is clicked on in the tab, "Controller 1". Then, add the LEGO Star Wars game or any other game where vibration doesn't work to the software where it says "Add Game...".

Once the game has been added, open the game up and if you start moving around in the game, you should start feeling vibrations!!!

I also suggest you change the force feedback in the software to something like this,

https://www.ngemu.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,onerror=redirect,width=1920,height=1920,fit=scale-down/https://www.ngemu.com/attachments/configtwinusb_ps2-png.189553/

so that the vibrations feel a bit stronger.

One last thing. I am using just a regular xbox one controller that is using an xbox wireless adapter on to my PC. So, it is very likely that this fix should work for any type of xbox one controller that is connected in any way to your computer.

Hope this Helps!

Man first of all thanks for replying to such an old issue. Sadly I cannot get xbox360ce to work with my Xbox One controler. No matter what i try it wont 'emulate' the original 360 controler and no inputs register in the windows control panel.

I have tried it nummerous times now but I will just give up. I hope the new LEGO Star Wars does have proper support.

I found a solution:

Deactivate steam input in the controller settings for the game in the library (right mouse click on the game name - Properties).

Worked for me with x360ce and the standard settings! BTW they recommend constant rumble settings.

I have a xbox one wireless gamepad.
