Is there actually any romance in these games?

A bunch of reviews hint towards it but i've always heard these games have no romance subplots like many other japanese games. Are there romantic subplots in either games?

There are hintings of it, but nothing direct, at least in Resurrection. I mean, Lindow and Sakuya are confirmed, but it's a bit ambiguous berween the Player Character and Alisa in Resurrection, but I think it's confirmed she has feelings for the player, at least if going by dialogues, and supplemental material like the manga. I think in the second one it's still ambiguous, but more deliberate, but I haven't touched the second one yet. I think the second has social-link-esque or support conversation like optional dialogues.

Damn. The game doesn't have any romance options which is kinda of a letdown for me. Even finished every Character Episode by Difficulty 10 and all that for nothing.

What do you mean, for nothing? Finishing the character episodes gets the characters new Blood Arts and gives you an achievement.
