GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst

GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst

Why no JP audio + English text?
The game came out in JP first, it would make sense for it to have JP audio + English text and the option for English dub.

This is a deal breaker for me. When I want to play an anime game, I want JP audio! Original JP audio in anime usually have better voice acting compared to English dubs.

Yeah, at a MINIMUM JP subtitles. If they say that they can't at least License that...

I posted a topic on it a few days ago, there is no solid answer regarding the subtitles portion of it. Just some user's speculation on it which they stand firmly on about.
It's region locked in Japan so it's pretty unlikely there will be Japanese subtitles.

Namco isn't interested in selling a PC version there it seems.

There are statistics on the internet that specifically say that the majority of people playing Anime games and/or watches Anime, does so with JP voice overs and ENG subs.
Because 110% off all the things in the internet are true.

Statistics are merely an indicator, and while not always 100% accurate, they're accurate enough to serve their purpose.

Some do a better job than others, but there are trustworthy and then there are the not so trustworthy statistics websites. Some pull their statistics out of their rear, whilst others do proper research and provides statistics based on feedback from the actual public or companies.

Which ones you decide to believe in, is entirely up to you, but if you're this sceptic to statistics, you're only pulling the wool over your own eyes, blinding yourself from reality, whilst being holed up in your own tiny bubble of ignorance.

Well from what I've heard in japan licensing laws are a little bit different in regards to voice acting. If you look on steam some of the Visual Novels have a cheaper version and then a version that has the voice acting removed and then a more expensive version with it still in place?

That's because the rights to use the recordings for the actors voices are only specific to Japan. So if you want to hypothetically make the game avalible in other places you have to pay the voice actors again.

At least that's what I've heard and it also seems relevant here. It explains why so many games outright don't provide the japanese voice acting. It's just not worth the extra money the company would spend to add a voice option outside of its native country where only a select few would be interested.

Select few only? I'd rather they keep the original JP voice and leave the English dub out. I bet you majority of the players who are actually interested in playing an Anime-looking game such as this would take JP audio over the horrible ENG dub any day.
Indeed
Weird that Bamco decided to keep the Japanese VA only in some other release they had this month (Ray Gigant), yet here they did the opposite.

Someone working there has no clue that they did it backwards: the popular games require japanese audio. Hell, even Tales of Zestiria had the option.

No JP voices + stupid censorship = WONT BUY. I'm a huge fan of GE but this is disrespect to players.

Agreed here about the disrespect part.

I think that the niche games require JP audio a lot more than the popular games. As I said earlier, with popular games, even if the JP audio fanbase boycotts, it isn't much of the sales. With more niche games, a lot more, if not most, of your fanbase are people who want the JP audio.
As you said, it is a niche game. Large public doesn't even know this series exist.
For ♥♥♥♥ sake. We just got rid of the other one and now someone made a new topic about it the exact same thing. In short THEY COULDN'T GET THE LICENSING. Now get over it people and go on with life and wait till the 30th.

Those licensing thing is BS and you know it. We're talking 'bout Namco Bandai here. They can easily buy any right they want. If they want to play greedy, so should we.

No they can't. It's not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. You know how much time and money they save if they're able to get the licensing? You're just being a ♥♥♥♥ because you can't grasp something simple like that. Bamco rather releases something in the original audio. You can actually look at tons of their game releases for that with one of them being Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. I'd suggest you learn about licensing concerning game translations from japan to the west.
btw, bamco isn't as rich as your puny lil'naruto mind want to believe. Look up their sales and how much they DON'T sell.

btw, At one point it's not smart to buy the rights to something. At one point you won't make money on the sales they calculated for. Making a 10% profit on a 3 million investment would mean you're going bankrupt.

Oh yeah, you're right ! they save some money so that they can pay people to censor the game.

Once again you're being unreasonable. Censorships in japan are different compared to the west. When they censor something IT'S BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CHOICE. Sigh, entitled kids these days. Just be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grateful they translated the game. They could've decided that the costs weren't worth it instead and scrapped the whole western release. If you had even a slight bit of common sense you would've known this.
Yeah right... so that's why there is a new trend for editors to release asian versions with english subtitles.
