AI Partners never Charge Crush/Use Charge Devour
So I've been playing Rage Burst for a while now, and something has been seriously bothering me... Haru, Brendan, Soma, just about any Buster Blade user, doesn't use their Charge Crush ability. Even with Charged Ability Speed II, they never use it. When the Aragami is down, when they're blinded, nothing. They start the animation and then cancel into a normal attack.

None of my AI allies ever use the full charged devour either. They've only ever use quick devour. This wasn't a problem with the Japanese Rage Burst on the Vita and PS4 (the only versions of Rage Burst I've played outside of the PC release.) Is this some kind of bug? Has anyone else experienced this? Please respond.

same problem , its very hard to maintain lvl 3 burst like this

Maybe it's a bug.I have played GE2 on my psp. In GE2, NPCs always use charge devour and perform well.
Most times in the PC release, I can only use Julius' LS and Mutual Burst to maintain my lv3 burst.

Same here, I remember AI partners devour a lot more often on PS4 version, so maintaining lvl 3 burst was never a problem. But here? I've only seen them devour maybe once or twice the entire season, It is really bothersome.

holy crap, you mean my not maintaining burst isn't my fault? o.o
so far I haven't seen the AI's use anything that requires holding a button down for more than a second. I just got through teaching all of them Auto Guard because they wont block either.

If your strugglign with that, and is because you dont devour on time. I would recommend you to get "Mutual Burst Lvl10", its an skill that whenever you send an Aragami Bullet to a teammate to trigger/extend their burst you trigger/extend your own burst too.

So each time you do a quick devour, you get half burst time and aragami bullet, wich is technically another way to extend/activate it!. Its like a 2x1 offer!

Err...No, what I meant is maintaining burst is a lot more easier because of how often AI teammates transfer bullets. It just annoys me how they wouldn't devour to keep their burst even when there is an opening.

I have Mutual Burst, but there are occurences where I couldn't devour / maintain my burst because of one or more of the following:
  • There were multiple Aragami around harassing me, interrupting the devour animation.
  • I keep missing because the Aragami I am trying to devour move too fast / too much.
  • The Aragami is floating in the air. Even If I get lucky and manage to devour it while it is in the air (Hitbox), chances are I will be hit by laser or whatever works before the devour animation is completed.
  • Out of Aragami bullet because I couldn't devour.

Coming from GER to GE2:RB, I've noticed the AI tends to be miserably incompetent in comparison. If they're not flailing away at a Borg's legs with gimp attacks until they get tailswipe KO'd, they're running in circles not firing while in gun form or just standing there watching a Kongo pack play soccer with my body. Heaven forbid they actually devour an aragami or use a bullet I transfer to them. Good luck trying to keep burst when fighting something like an activated Pita or other fast enemy...

Some confirmation if it's buggy AI that may be fixed or just a bunch of healsponge deadweights we have to tolerate while playing would be nice. If nothing else, would let me know to drop this game for now since forging on past tier 11 missions is starting to become a real chore.

Wow, this is odd.
I do think the AI in GER is better, but it is a newer game, after all.
However, the AI in 2RB was pretty dang good on Vita, and I can't imagine It being worse on PS4, as it's only a minor graphical touch-up and radio through the controller.

I'm only on D2 so far, but Nana and Julius have been keeping me bursted pretty efficiently. Of course just having Julius around is nice for upkeep, which would be nice if they don't pull a Lindow and have him unavailble for the majority of the game.

It isn't so much as keeping burst, it's just... no one does a full devour, just quick devours. And not a single Buster Blader using charge crush. I've been playing God Eater 2 since the Japanese PSP release, and only on the PC version of Rage Burst have the AI been this incompetent

I'm assuming it's a PC exclusive bug according to everyone's testimony.

Also the ai does not heal each other effectively. They use personal items but only drop a healing circle for the player, only use heal beams on the player, and will not walk to a healing ball.

The most effective method of maintaining group health is to take kanon with wide area healing and take damage on purpose. It keeps everyone going. Also give them heal posts.

But they are 100% bad at everything, they can be good a just surviving. Sometimes I tell them to split up then attack freely and I work my way around, especially with Nana.

Also, if you forget which elements an aragami is weak to watch what they fire. I think they always use the correct elements.
