It's an ex-player character that could be customized; I think the game mentions a specific name for them, but doesn't want to actually show the character, even if there is a character that is treated as the canon version.

i read he called alpha 1. but still odd. cause alisa said i remind her of ger mc. would of been cool if both was same mc. but he had to disappeared to candle or something.

The games take place 3 years apart, ant 2 is about the Blood squad.
It wouldn't make any sense for them to be the same character.
It'd be like playing Skyrim as The Nerevarine. Different era, different story.

I have a feeling it's Kigurumi as well (who knows all we know Kigurumi has the same link support you have how does it know what you have) but the canon is that GE1 protagonist is Yuu Kannagi (you see his name in the terminal) went to Cradle but pretty much 80% of the original GE1 cast went to Cradle AKA 1st Unit, except for Kouta who opt to stay.
My head canon states GE1 protag is paired with Alisa though :X Rindou/Lindow also states that the former Captain (Yuu Kannagi, not Rindou/Lindow who was also a former Captain) is with Cradle when you fight the Kyuubi
I'm not sure where the Defense Unit stand thats the 2nd and 3rd Units (Kanon is part of the group who also stayed)
Kigurumi doesnt speak maybe to hide himself in anycase...
