Short blade: Not as OP as people say it is in resurrection (still playing through resurrection at the moment), but it's still good. Good mobility and some pretty decent blood arts. Definitely a viable pick for end-game but perhaps not the best of the best if you're looking for top-tier speedruns.
Long blade: My personal favorite weapon and main weapon still. Incredible mobility with the right blood arts, great combo ability with zero stance, and overall an easy weapon to pick up and use. Unfortunately, it seems to be at the bottom of the barrel for end-game content, but its mobility definitely makes up for it IMO.
Buster blade: Not a fan of the slow, immobile weapons, but this is no doubt one of the top-tier weapons in the game alongside the charge spear. Has a few viable end-game builds and the charged attack is incredibly strong (similar to the greatsword in mh4u if you've played it). Combine that attack with the stealth field on the sniper, and you have one devastatingly good combo against unaware arigami.
Charge spear: Also one of the top-tier weapons in the game. Personally not a big fan, but I wish I could play this well. Tons of mobility with the backflip + dash combo and the charge-dash attack. Deals a ton of damage too. An absolute beast of a weapon in the right hands and no doubt one of the best, if not the best, weapons in the game. However, I personally find it one of the hardest to use. The backflip + dash combo is hard to get used to and the charged dash can be hard to land on enemy weak points.
Boost hammer: Seems to be the bottom of the barrel, but it's hard to judge since very few speedrunners use it outside of very gimmicky strategies as far as I can tell. I liked the weapon at first, but it's a bit too slow against the faster arigami and I couldn't find a decent blood art that I liked with it.
Variant scythe: A popular pick. Lots of viable builds and arguably one of the better weapons for aerial fighting (for those pesky sariels mainly). If I'm not playing long blade, this is my go-to back-up. With the amount of viable options, it's hard to go wrong with this one against any enemy. It's also great for players who like to sit back an gun arigami down since it's fast attacks build OP relatively quickly and the round fang attack gives a lot of range. Did I also mention that this weapon is great for breaking bonds? A lot of the scythe's attacks hit multiple times allowing you to easily hit every part of the arigami. It's not difficult to break all the arigami's bonds every fight, which makes it great for farming materials too. The only major drawback is the lack of mobility.
Final notes: I'd give each weapon a try and get a feel for them with different blood arts. Experiment. Then decide. I'd personally say that the scythe is fairly hard to go wrong with even if you don't like it in the end. Although, I do like weapons with mobility (long blade, short blade, charge spear) as you can keep up with the faster arigami and gives more openings for devours (keeping your burst is vital IMO).
So yeah i will either use the spear or the scythe. Or the buster blade if want to have a bad time for a change.
