"<Player> cannot join" on nearly all missions
Any mission I try to select other than the Training and the Difficulty-1 missions I get this big red notice saying my character can't join. There's no explaination of why, and the forum search also turns up nothing, so would somebody please explain what I need to do or maybe how to do it.
I'd be very grateful.

You mean those extra missions and DLC missions? They are locked until you reach Diff 15 iirc.

Oh! I knew there was DLC added in, but I assumed it was in the "Special" and "Extras" and "Special Mission" menus, which I can not even click to see what's inside.
