Buster Blade in Blood Rage
I don't use it myself, but my friend who likes using the weapon commented that it seems underwhelming in Blood Rage due to how slow it attacks, and the damage numbers they're getting (compared to other weapons). Could there be something wrong with how they're using it, or is there some trick to it?

According to them the swing hitboxes are wonky and it's hard to hit weakpoints with the charge compared to other weapons. Yeah I dunno. I don't know what BA they have, either.

EDIT: Worth noting, we're not endgame yet either.

EDITEDIT: Oh and they think Crush is underpowred with "little that actually takes as much damage from it as the other two". Her example at the time was Amaterasu.

Both Buster Blade and Hammer are weapons that especially stand out when they are at Burst 3; 20% increased attack and defense plus movement speed -which means, attack speed- make them exaggeratedly powerful. Numbers escalate quickly with them, so is very easy to get five digit numbers per hit.

While Hammer is a brute choice which offsets its flaws with pure power -e.g. Boost Rush, Intercepting Comet, Deicide-, Buster Blade is an all-terrain stand: high attack with adaptability -vertical AND horizontal swings-, very high defense, counter stance, and charged attack. Does that look wonky to you? ^^

Sorry if it sounds mean to you -not my intention- but, your friends don't have the slightest idea what they are playing. :S

p.s. In fact, Amaterasu's body is especially resistant against crush damage -except the goddess-. Not all Aragamis are the same -different stats, different resistances, etc-.

As per Amaterasu case:
- Her goddess parts actually VERY WEAK to both Crush and Sunder melee damage. Pierce melee also deal critical damage, but the resistance to pierce is slightly higher compared the other two

- Melee crush still have higher advantage over melee sunder when you hit Amaterasu's Horn. Crush able to deal critical damage after the horn is broken, while Sunder able to do that only when the horn is broken and Amaterasu is on rage mode. Pierce is at total disadvantage here.

- Gun crush damage is the only way to kill Amaterasu if you focused on gun. Gun pierce damage will deal very low damage against Amaterasu, no matter what part you aim.

TLDR: Against Amaterasu, Crush type damage is the best way to go if you only calculating the damage potential.
