Chrome Gawain Help!

I've been bashing my head against this guy for days now. Livie is useless, I figured that out, so I don't bother resurrecting her unless my Endurence is gone. I'm using the strongest spark equipment I can craft for my weapons, and this guy keeps destroying me. I'm using a Scythe/Shield/Shotgun set. Any advice? And I don't really want to switch over to another weapon unless really, really recommended. I'ave tried them all, and freakin' love my scythe.

I beat it (and the entire game) with scythe / assault rifle.

Your first target should be to break those Arc wing/arms! Without those, a Gawain becomes much easier. And don't neglect to use Blood Rage. Also can't hurt to grind some Free missions with Liv and raise her HP and Damage Cut.

To be honest, in the end, I gave up on melee and just gunned the damn thing down (nothing fancy on my bullets, just 3-Shot Replica), with the occasional Blood Rage to break the monotony. Took a while, but got the job done.

i'm using kurogane set (I don't care about stat)
if you're not good with one on one trying to give heal bullet to Livie and the best thing is trying to remember it's attack this will help alot

when i fight it first time, it's really hard but after know everymove it's very easy.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll keep bashing my head against it then. I almost had him in one run. Burned through four Blood Rages. Its amazing how the game turned it up though. Compared to every Aragami before it, this thing is basically Dark Souls level of difficulty.

The downside of that mission is having to go throught the other phases of the survival, consuming your healing items and endurance.

I'm so confused

I really don't mean to brag or anything, I'm literally just really confused why there are so many people that have such issues with this mission

I don't even see myself as a god-tier pro player

I beat him easily and it only took me and Livie down once. Livie never went down more than that.

I had underleveled gear too.

My build was longsword, shotgun, and buckler.

I found that Crashing Wave Cut is a perfect blood art because it allows you to match his mobility. Don't use blood arts that modify your hits in any way as they are useless against his mobility. Don't even try devouring him. You will never succeed.

It's not a walk in the park, but it's an easy fight. I don't even see myself as the best player of the game ever or anything so I don't get why people have trouble with this boss.

There are multiple reasons.
Your playstyle, the skills in your gear and your shield.

Your playstyle is bind with your gear, wich implys if you are a close/mid/long combatiant, you relay more on your weapon, your gun, you step out of the way or block.

The skills play an important role here because those justify your playstyle or your gear itself.

We dont know all of those and I personally struggled only with The Kyuubi and the final story mission, becuase I did not bring certain Blood Power to aid me on it

But most players struggle with Chrome Gawain, lets say you got used to Aragami's and their variatiosn at this point, then they throw you a new species with a nice moveset and a move that will hit you if you are close to it, thinking you are safe or it had more frames to dodge it.

Basically this xD Compared to almost every other Aragami before him, Kyuubi excluded, this guy is on a whole different level. Chrome Gawain would fit into a MH game flawlessly with his aggresive AI and crushing movepool. I can only hope the rest of the end game Aragami are half as exciting to fight as him.

I dont want ot spoil you but, you wont be dissapointed, there are more though Aragamis story related and there are the challenge ones, some being variations of current species but their movesets "extras" are on a complete different level to make you struggle.
