LAS files--export to textured mesh?
I see that it is possible to load LAS files, which come in as a dense point cloud. Is there any way then to process the dense point cloud into a textured OBJ? Thanks!

Hi Benedict!

that feature is unfortunately not available in 3DF Zephyr Lite.

You can in 3DF Zephyr Pro/Aerial make structured any external point cloud (provided the scan origin is embedded in the file, or you will need photos to register the scan) and once you have done, you will be able to create a mesh and eventually a textured mesh.

If you need a free trial key for pro/aerial let me know!

Yes! I'd like to try that, please.

You can write me directly at support@3dflow.net and I will send a trial key directly in your inbox, or you can fill in this form here https://www.3dflow.net/3df-zephyr-evaluation-download-page/

The trial starts when you activate it, however note that the trial must be activated within 14 days or it will automatically expire (if that happens no worries, we'll just make a new one) - simply write or fill the form when you are ready :)

You can do this with CloudCompare then import the ply into Meshlab.
