New update locked hard AI?

I'm like 95% certain the Hard AI was unlocked until this most recent update.
I am a free player, and although I didn't do too good against the Hard AI, it was nice to have the choice.
Or am I just mis-remembering?

So it looks like you now have to pay to play the option of HARD AI, what was once a free feature. Thnaks Star Realms, that was a pretty D move.

Frankly, the "Free" game is just a demo. If you actually like the game you should pick it up on sale.

The Hard AI was never included in the free version. If you had access previously, you got it by mistake. We recently made the Medium AI free. If you look at the "Full version" description in the store, you'll see that it "unlocks local multiplayer, the Hard AI mode, and a campaign chapter with nine new missions, and an online multiplayer mode!" - and I can guarantee you that's been the description for quite a while now (and before that, it said "Medium and Hard AI mode" - we never added anything to that list, we only made the Medium AI free).

Oh, hm, that is peculiar. I do very much appreciate a dev reply and answer, even if it's caused even more confusion!

Oh well, the game is still very much enjoyable with only two difficulties, for sure! :P

I remember the free version used to only have access to Easy AI which is confirmed by the developer post above. It looks like they recently modified the free version to also have access to Medium AI, so that is a bonus.
