Are you still having this issue?
Are you able to play normal online games?
Maybe there is a connection issue between you and your friend or a slow connection?

HI, could you please try again and send us your log file after this happens.

You can send the file to support@trickytowers.com

The log file can usually be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tricky Towers\TrickyTowers_Data\output_log.txt

I've looked through the log file and unfortunately can't find anything strange.
So maybe the problem is in your friend's game.

Can he/she invite other people, does that work?
If so, could you maybe send the log file from your friends game after you've accepted the invite.

I also have this problem, and it's definitely on my end. I have 3 friends who can all play together no matter who hosts, but I can't join any of their games. If I host they can all join me though.

I have another problem which I doubt is related, but, maybe? I have 2 screens, and my secondary screen is to the left. Tricky Towers always starts on my secondary screen, so I have to window it to put it on the screen I want.

The secondary screen bug is unfortunately brought in from the game engine we are using to build the game. We're currently trying to upgrade versions to try and get around this error - but that involves retesting every aspect of the game, so it will take a little while before we can get that out to users.

Perhaps there will be some useful information in your log files Pokey. Next time you have this error could you please immediately send your log file to us?

I already emailed you my log file which should have a lot of instances of this, but it wasn't the most recent thing I did with the game. I've deleted my log now, and I'll send the new one when I get time to reproduce this.

Hi, I've sent you the fresh log file. All I did was boot the game, accept the invite through steam, see this error for about 5 seconds, then close the game just by closing the window.

I looked at the log file and I do see an error. The only explanation I have at the moment is that there is a controller (or other external device) connected that is wrongly recognized by the system. Unfortunately we cannot reproduce this, so we can't confirm this suspicion.

Is this something that could be the case? If so, is it possible that you can test without the device connected?

If you can confirm this, we can start working on a fix.

I do have a weird controller connected, it's vJoy. It's a virtual controller meant to be used by other programs.
Sadly, I think the only way to disable/unplug it is to uninstall it. I can test this some time later, but if you want to confirm it yourself you can find it here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/vjoystick/

OK great, I'll take a look at that, see if I can reproduce the issue.
BunnyLucille Feb 3, 2017 @ 8:01pm
Yep, uninstalling vJoy fixed the problem for me

Great to hear, we've also just released an update where we added an extra check for this issue, so it shouldn't hang now, even with vJoy. I don't know if you can then play with vJoy though :)
