How do I discover copper and lead ?

I need copper and lead to build a thing that lets me build a laboratory. But my mines show only ore, silver and something else I forget. How do I get copper and lead ?

You can mine copper on Ganymede at depth of 15 m, while lead is on Ceres at depth of 60. Not every resource is available on every location. Click on mining probe before building a mine.

Thank you. There is a problem in the tutorial part of the program. The tutorial tells you to build a laboratory before it tells you to build an observatory. But you need copper and lead to build a laboratory, and you can mine these only once you have built an observatory.

I assume that you can build a mine anywhere on the planet. Or should you build the mine right next to a probe which shows what you want to mine ?

You can build mine anywhere but it will not extract anything useful unless it is placed next to probe. Probe is a marker that tells you that there is something to extract at that location.
