This game demonstrates the immersive power of VR. Using the spell to tether objects and control them with your hands and looking around as the objects move... there is no experience I've ever had that makes you feel more like a powerful badass wizard.
Or the fireball spell and actually throwing the fireballs makes you feel like the elements are coarsing through your body. Not to mention all the little elements in the level that you experience while inherently being a part of it in the center of it as you are in VR rather than a disconnected non-immersrive flat screen.
This would be COMPLETELY lost in a flat screen version and totally pointless. Like many of the best VR games there is no 2D option because it would totally compromise the VR experience and thank goodness for devs sticking to their guns and giving us amazing experiences like this.
This statement alone tells me you know nothing about programming.
I hope you dont look this up, but they Do have hand controls they dont need VR. There is 1 company that even created a Small bar to sit under your monitor, or just in front of you, tht will let you use all the hand gestures you would want. Then even tried a version Connected to the underside of a VR helmit to show it didnt NEED controllers. And if you REALLY want to know they were playing with that idea back in the AMIGA days.

If it's such a great technology, where is the mass adoption???
Quote from the article itself:
ooops!
I suppose you can just keep on missing out on technology that is already tried and proven with A LOT of quality content.
if you did abit of follow thru you would see they have a few other things going, Now.
Including a Ultra sonic device so you can Feel in 3D, and move you have into 3D. Cost in the $5k market.
PArt of this is the TIME frame they started it and the hardware used. Suggest you look at that. its almost 10 year old tech.
If you want the PAST..try this one..

This stuff goes along ways back. they even had a 3D viewing on the Amiga, but found out that Anything under 90hz, (90 FPS) hurts the eyes.. And split 60hz screen(30+30) really didnt help anything.
Do Understand, Im over 60 and Iv delt with computers along time.
And if you like the old time Bizzare things...
Everything you referring to it was either financial disaster or unsupported half ass attempt at some new gaming peripheral rejected by the public.
VR is here and it's been accepted as the superior gaming peripheral. No one here understands what is your point exactly.
Good luck seeing that on Best Buy shelves.
another FAILURE!
No, no one is looking for the past. It's YOU who is stuck in some sort of nostalgia land, trying to convince us to revisit the past with you. You're in your 60's, you're not a child anymore, it's time to step into CURRENT times!
Knowing the future based on economics, even today. How many of the 20+ systems created for VR, require Independent Hardware and then Independent drivers or a WHOLE new software to be used, and then Cant get past 90fps.
Then comes he big question, and IF/WHO is willing to pay an equal amount if NOT more for the rig to play the games.. And they arnt the Available Games that they can play already on a FLAT screen. Which is going to limit your sales into the ground. 1%? 2%, 10% of players are going to buy the Extra hardware to add to a system that wont WORK with the games they already have.
Good luck.
I will keep enjoying what others have created and it actually got mass adopted despite people like yourself.
My opinion is that they could ADD to their market if, they made a regular version, not JUST designed for 1-2 VR sets that most cant/wont buy. And if you knew much about tech, you would have noticed something IMPORTANT. but I wont tell you that. As you are debating Someones Comment. I can give you Tons of facts, and show the old things they learned, AND they are using now, as the Current companies have Bought out the old copyrights, Because they are USING those old ideas.
ANd considering, you are Probably NOT part of the developer, your opinion/comments, are nothing more then CRAP. You dont even know the tech.
