Then if nothing else, make one that works without the VR..
EDIT: Thank you dev for great freebie!
MXK,
See, I have only 1 problem with VR/.. and its the idea that why not make a driver to View from 2 Slightly off locations in the game... as is HOW VR works for humans/animals.. They did VR long ago onthe Amiga and found they needed Higher refresh to make it work very well. and it worked the problems I kinda see is trying to keep a Copyright and making things harder, because it cant be any other format thats already been created.
VR and how we see is mostly an illusion, and use only for close range. They even made Binoculars and Old style range finders, that can create this illusion from range.
And if you hav a small room I think the Sim PIT would be nicer..
Once you experience VR, there is simply no going back!
The VR they are using requires separation, for Angled view to create 3D..That is how you interpret 3D...Without it, the Angles you eyes use to see, you would not see the aspect of Depth. try walking around with 1 eye for a day...its fun..
Binoculars can create the feeling of 3D are longer range..
And Im 60 years old, and went threw the 60-70's and even played on the original PONG consoles...
If you're 60, then please do yourself a favor and purchase a VR system and enjoy completely new way to enjoy and experience video games!
that is my concerns. take any program and create 3D, and not need to recreate the wheel.
Why not go ask your Mother and Father for a list of things to do every week while also finding a small job that gives you some money and put it away every week like everyone did in the past. Its this little thing called Saving try it and stop hoping everything is giving to you.
And as to your suggestion I would have to list a few handicaps that took over, after working into my 30's..including Pain and a strange heart condition..and if you really want the list, I will type it out for your edification..
Some people are mainly interested in playing conventional games in VR that are pretty much like the games we've played on monitors. I'm not one of those people. My interest is creating experiences that wouldn't be possible on a monitor.
In virtual reality we can do things like have a character respond to the way you glance around or the way you use communicative hand- and head gestures like nods or headshakes. We can let you fight enemies with physically based interactions, feel subtle haptics when you move your finger across a dusty surface, create tools and weapons that convincingly emulate how those tools work in real life. Not just press spacebar to jump and mouseclick to shoot.
We are specifically committed to exploring the new things VR has to offer, and when that's what you're after there is no such thing as 'simply porting' to monitors. It's completely different in technical implementation, with environments designed for physical human beings that interact through physical movements.
I'm sorry for those who can't play Waltz because you don't own a headset. I can only hope that our work will inspire you to buy one ;-)
Im upset because VR should work with any program.. you should not need new programming to use any of it..
