Easily my favorite game in the trilogy for this arc in the franchise
Finally finished with this arc in the franchise. Now I'm off to Trails from Zero

Is it worth playing ?
Currently I just began SC's finale chapter. Somewhere after 3rd chapter I got rly frustrated by main quest structure, required walking around + some achievements requirements (guess which) and while since 6th chapter I'm rly invested honestly I'm dreading of having to go on 3rd tour through Liberl..

I'm think of just watching story on YT or skipping completly...

I've been there and was thinking of watching the story to catch up, but it is better to play through the story yourself. The 3rd game is better paced and you don't have any annoying bracer missions either.

problem is there isn't alot of story outside of the doors and those you could easily just watch on youtube.

It's very different to how the first two play, so maybe 3rd is more up your alley. The way 3rd tells its story content wasn't for me, but I loved both FC and SC, so maybe it's the other way around for you

I'm in the same boat TC. Great game and trilogy over all. I'll be picking up the Crossbell game next time they are on a sell.

People really believe this one should be skipped.

Some do, and the ones that think like this are clearly missing out. A lot of the critiques thrown out are easily applicable to the other games in the series (recycled content, could watch on YouTube, difficulty, etc.). If you're reading this, give the game a serious play-through and you'll miss it once it's done, as the story (like it has for the other two games) will carry you through and stick with you.
There is a difference between “should be skipped” and “can be skipped”. I like Trails in the Sky the 3rd, but it is really difficult to build a concrete case for it. I find the main story to be very below average for JRPG standards, with the redeeming quality of having decent to phenomenal doors. Since doors are - for all intents and purposes - cutscenes that you can find on YouTube, I cannot see how people genuinely blame others for saving 30€ and watching those cutscenes on that website instead. I also see a lot of people being discontent with the gameplay of Sky games (an opinion I personally heavily disagree with), so the idea of not spending money on a game where gameplay/combat is a hindrance, and thus everything interesting can be seen elsewhere for free is not that dumb.

Whilst I do think Sky the 3rd should be played by people who have become big fans of the series after SC, I do not see any issue in skimming over it. I also believe people should really tone down three notches when it comes to other people deciding how to play. The community is quite toxic with potential new fans and the outlook we are giving is quite negative overall. Let people play however they want!

I wish i could've skipped all of the Cold Steel games, but after many years of procrastination, I am finally getting close to finishing Cold Steel iV. I'm in Act 3 and I can't wait to finally be done playing with boring ass generic Rean as the main protagonist.
