Zero no Kiseki [Eng - Unofficial]
Hey guys, sorry if this post is inappropriate, just tell me and i'll edit/delete this post.

Just wanna let you guys know, there's a english patch released just recently (probably leaked) for psp version of 'tloh-trails of zero'.

The translation may not be perfect, but if you want to experience the game to at least understand what happen after sky/sora, try it. Otherwise wait for future official release (if there's any).

Again, sorry if this is inappropriate, just let me know or delete it.

You may also want to compare this patch to manual translation in this spreadsheet :

Thanks should be useful if Zero never gets an english release.
hmmm. will give it a year (or maybe 2 since cold steel games are starting to get pc ports). And if no news from zero then this is an instant download. And if zero is announced after I download the patch then I can just buy that anyway.
This is a leaked version of a patch that was in the works by Zeromonkeyg, before he essentially bailed out from the project and has gone silent forever, it was made also with the help of various members such as Flamethrower2.

It is a ~99% translated patch, however is a version that was intended for testing - it was a version which was handed out to one of the testers from 2015 and before bailing out, this project was even worked on after this point.

Personally, I've finished the entire game on this patch, it has plenty of English derps here and there, some gramatical errors and mis-spellings, some small translation derps here and there too [ Example: http://i.imgur.com/whc3pMg.png ].
If you really can't wait then it should be feasible for a playthrough. Do note that no images were translated here, so you would have to deal with a Japanese detective notebook manual.

However, if you were to have any patience personally, I'd rather wait for the patch from the team of veteran Kiseki fans such as Floofy which is currently in the works at https://geofront.esterior.net/ which, while without a set date, I'd personally estimate to be ready by the end of the year.

There is also an Ao translation project but it hasn't been publically announced, so I'll keep information on that for now including level of completion as < Redacted >. I estimate it'll be completed at some point in 2018, though some in the know think it may be down in early 2019.
I'm starting to think that the biggest barrier for a Crossbell localization wouldn't be the work required to translate it, but porting it to PC. If a team with far less resources than Xseed was able to translate a majority of Zero's text, then I don't doubt that Xseed would be able to give the games a quality translation in a timely manner. SC took four years, but that was mainly because the project was handled very poorly and no work was done on it for the majority of that time. Xseed has since adopted a far more efficient localization policy for trails with their "less is more" strategy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Sky the 3rd took less than a year and a half of work to release.

It's ok I don't think this is inappropriate. Not like you're shoving spoilers down our throats. Thanks alot for posting this. I've watched only a little bit of this translation, but I'm saving my appetite until hopefully Xseed announcing something. Maybe. Just, maybe..
Just be careful, from my experience with this patch and from what I've read from other users in other boards, the patch works perfectly on the PPSSPP emulator, but on a real PSP this things send the PSP in a hard crash:

-Recipe List
-Poker
-Black Jack

Still, a good appetizer for when the Geofront Translation comes out. If only Cold Steel didn't finish leaving me with the jaw on the floor since two days ago I'd still be playing it, but Cold Steel II takes priority. I can't leave that hanging.

i also wanna chime in and say that it's a REALLY bad translation. it's good enough to understand the story and know where to go, but not much more than that. i just think this hasn't been stressed enough in this thread.
If it is really bad translation then I might just pass. The story in trails games is amazing yes but what makes it flourish is the quality of the dialogue (for example, the characters in terms of appearence are steryotypes BUT their dialogue makes it so that they are not only some of the best example of their steriotypes but also shows others sides of them)

Well it's a leak.

Actually, there is a chinese PC port of this game. So they could base it of the code there. :D. Maybe that'll speed up production of the port and translations are a lot faster now with the efficient improvement in management in Xseed in these games! Looking forward to Zero and Ao one day.

It's worth remembering that this is a leaked alpha version that never went through an editing process. So if you're one of those people who loves the Trails games for the localization quality and catchy dialogue, you're better off waiting until the team finishes editing the whole thing. Then you can experience your first run through the game the way it was meant to and returning to this alpha version afterwards will be more enjoyable/LOL-worthy too because you'll know what the text was supposed to say.

Me, I'm not touching this stuff. The PSP version of Trails in the Sky FC had a couple of roughly edited scenes that were cleaned up in the PC release and reading back those PSP versions frequently makes me cringe since I now know what the character are supposed to say. I'd hate the idea of having to play through a whole game of worse than that.

So for short: do you want to play the game or do you want to experience it? If it's the latter, don't bother with the leaked prototype.

That's true, but I heard that the PC version of Zero was really bad, so I figured they would make a new PC version from scratch rather than base it off the Chinese port, but I'm not sure which route would be better.

The worst part about the PC version was the DRM, which phoned home upon accessing every other file, causing lots of slowdown. That only applies to the Chinese version though, the Japanese version had the DRM removed. Aside from that, it was just a no-frills port.

Didn't falcom also, after finding out the chiniese made it, take that port made a better version of it? I remember reading something like that.

That was Zero no kiseki only. It didn't do great and thus they never touched ao no kiseki for pc.
