How to get the missing enemy entries for Schera's Moon Door
I've seen a few reports in the past about how two of the enemies (Man in Black - Blade, and Gentleman) in Schera's Moon Door don't get recorded for some reason. For those that are trying to get a complete beastiary, this naturally is a little aggravating. Today, I found a way to get the entries recorded. There is some glitchiness involved, but I don't think it'll hurt anything in this particular instance.

Anyway, the first thing you'll need to do is modify the game's field turbo rate, but the configuration program's maximum of x6 isn't enough. Fortunately, there is a way to make it go even higher (disclaimer: be careful when messing around with turbo mode, as the higher the value, the easier it is to break the game's intended sequence of events, which may have undesirable consequences). To do this, locate the file:

ed6_win3.ini

Open the file in Notepad, and near the end of the file you'll see a line that reads TurboLvField. Change the value to 20 (slightly lower than that will also work). After that, save the file and boot up the game. Enter Moon Door 2. When you're given control of Schera, head over to the East Block like normal, but don't go to the department store. Instead, head to the North Block entrance (a man in black will be standing next to it), and use Turbo mode to get past the triggers telling you not to go that way. Alternatively, you can simply use Turbo mode at the South Block entrance where you came from, and shoot past the loading zone trigger to walk around out of bounds, and make your way to the North Block that way. Anyway, once you're in the North Block, simply head to Grancel Castle, and you'll fight the gentleman and the leader of the men in black. Only this time, you should actually receive their entries.

To avoid unintentionally breaking the game out of sequence, please afterwards modify the config file to its previous field turbo mode setting (no higher than 6).

So, why does this work? I understand very little on the technical side of things, so I can only guess. If you play this door normally, everything seems to function right up until you exit the sewers and do the last 2 battles. Not only does the game not record the entries of the Man in Black - Blade and Gentleman, but it also doesn't seem to update the monster guide *at all* anywhere else either - not unless you exit and reboot the game, anyway. My guess is that something goes wrong in the battle immediately preceding the one with Aina's uncle, perhaps during Kurt's "cinematic" battle.

One final thing to note: if you're missing other enemy entries from this door (such as the Black Sheep), you should hopefully still be able to obtain them by re-playing the door normally. However, going through the sewers means you can't use the Turbo mode glitch to bypass the 3 mercenary encounter (as best as I can tell, at least, as they are then guarding the transition to the castle), so it seems that you need to play through this door at least twice to get all the monster guide entries. At least once normally, collecting the entry for the regular men in black, plus all of the sewer entries (be sure to save your game afterwards, close the game, and reboot it to ensure the monster guide properly functions again). And a second time, making use of the glitched method described above to get the entries of the Gentleman and the Man in Black - Blade.

Thank you. I suspected it was a bug and that saving, quitting and booting up the game would fix it. If I follow these steps, maybe I can carry over the information from my previous safe instead of collecting it again for my New Game+ run. Then I can see if there's more to this bug.

In my first playthrough, I missed the final bosses of that chapter because I didn't quit the game. When I noticed that no monster were being recorded afterwards I saved and quit and that fixed it.

Also, is the black sheep a rare encounter in the sewers? I didn't encounter any...

Yes, it can show up with the Great Moth pictured here (close to the beginning of the sewers):

Keep in mind that this effectively means completing this door normally (unfortunately, trying to do the turbo mode glitch after the sewers doesn't seem to work, as the 3 mercenaries will then be guarding the way to Grancel Castle, and they seem unskippable), so your monster guide probably won't update properly afterwards. If so, just save your progress afterwards, quit, and reboot the game.

Thanks for this Korzic, I managed to get to the North Block. Unfortunately, I am playing on Nightmare and it's impossible to gain levels before the boss, so the fight is pretty much impossible. I'll have to do that on my third playthrough.

Edit: Disregard. Fight is getting easier with every retry, but it's the most laughable fun I've had this weekend.

Hmm, I didn't consider how tough the fight could be on harder difficulties without the ability to grind in the sewers; I was messing around with this stuff on an Easy difficulty playthrough. Still, I guess retrying the fight should only be an issue for people that want perfect battle stats.

Anyway, did you at least get the missing entries to show up?

Yes. List is completed now. I had to do it twice though. I forgot to knock out the Gentleman the first time. He gets added to the Monster Guide if you don't knock him out but you don't receive any information about him unless you knock him out.

The battle stats are never saved or carried over to New Game+ when you start a new game, so perfect battle stats are probably never an issue here.

I managed to do it without having to alter the Turbo mode speed.

You can do it by just holding turbo mode and continue to run into the gate, when the dialogue pops up, skip it and continue to hold turbo and left button until you get through the gate.

Yes and I did it this way too, just yesterday. With this I now have every monster entry in FC,SC,3rd,Zero,Ao, CS1 and CS2. I am basically done as I don't plan on playing games after Ao anymore.

Also, not gonna lie, I might use this trick in my future runs too. I love Schera's door and the sheer amount of optional cutscenes that it has (ones with Nial and Dorothy, Cassius on the phone etc etc...) but I really don't like the unskippable text in this door and Kloe's door. If only they had worked like normal texts. Anyway, this trick basically lets me skip Schera's unskippable text. I have already seen all of the possible dialogues this door has, so it's not like I am missing out on anything anymore. Hell I even found Nielsan, the NPC from Ao.

I haven't been able to get this to work. I'm still missing the last two entries from Shera's moon door. I've tried forcing my way to the north block before going to edel department store, but even holding down the turbo button, the game won't let me...
