how do I get to The Abyss?

Seems that all the optional content thats left me requires me to go there but a streamer I follow said to go to the bonus dungeon before I go to the final dungeon. I need the invitation for Nightmare Arena mode which is in the Abyss, and I need the last Star Door thats in the Abyss. I've also seen people mention its worth doing the Abyss in one go which seems impossible if I wanna leave to do the Arena on Nightmare.

Go talk to Celeste.

You can do the Nightmare Arena once you are finished with The Abyss. No reason to leave until you are done with it.
