How to kill shining pom
So I found a shining pom in chapter 4 (i think that's what chapter I'm in) but they seem to work completely differently in this game than the previous games. Instead of being very hard to hit and immune to all the elements, they just seem to have a riduculous amount of defense and magic defense. I'm playing on normal difficulty, I got Anelace's attack all the way to over 2000, which is ridiculously powerful at this part of the game, and she was still only able to do 1 damage, and the other members couldn't do any damage.
So what the heck am I supposed to do?

Try using Sanctus Nova. It's an ATS based s-craft

Anelace is awesome shining pom killer. Use her 50% str buff up craft, and she'll be able to one shot poms afterwards with her s-craft. Buffs are your friend in this game.

All shining poms are vulnerable to instakill, so shadow spear and death scream can do the trick.

There is some luck involved that you need to get your killing blows in before they run.

Wow, I would have bet dollars to donuts that they'd be immune to all status effects.

I think their various immunities vary, but don't quote me on that.

If this is the spot I'm thinking of, that pom is like 20 levels higher than you at the time. Once you level up a bit you can then start smashing them the way you should be. Their def is just that tough.

Yeah, hunting poms is best attempted as an end game mop up thing!

So far the only way I've really found to harm shining poms are to use 200 CP S-crafts on them.

I once lucked out killing one with just a regular attack. It was in one of the Amberl towers and I was just being dumb. I didn't expect it to work. It only killed that one and the rest ran away but got a mess of sephith and my characters gained a couple of levels. Weird

I think the only time I managed to kill a shining pom was in the first game and I was a total newbie, it was like the first one you encounter and I managed to kill 2 of them I think. Ever since then I was like "How did I do that?!?"
It's worth mentioning that I haven't tried really hard to kill them since then, but then again, I didn't try really hard that first time either.

It seems to me only ATS based s crafts can hurt them. Like Kloe's and Reis's. One shotted them with both. I've tried Tita and Olivier's s craft on them too and they hit for zero damage.

Tita and Joshua in chapter 4 could hurt them a lot with their S-Crafts for me. Before the end of the chapter each of them could even 1-shot them. Then again, I like to focus a lot of power on her, since her AoE range is pretty great, so having someone that does major damage from a distance on large groups of enemies is a huge pro. I think with 1700-1800 attack Tita can 1-shot them. Joshua with around 1600 or so.

I don't remember to be honest. All I know is it apears randomly once in awhile with one of the enemies. I think I remember it being on path that goes north to south.
