Is there a way to disable teleporting?

I picked this game up to play with my index, and after working through the nausea-inducing Tutorial I managed to find the option to set 'walk' mode, however, the joystick still appears to teleport.

I find teleportation in VR games a little nausea-inducing so do not tend to play games when they do not allow for joystick movement, so am disappointed that the option does not seem to do anything?

is there any kind of fix for this?
