Just watched the Steam store video and it looks pretty much the same as GK1. Not that's it a bad thing.

There are new things shown in the trailer: Electricity, Town defense, combat zombies. I think most GK1 players want more GK and this looks like more GK

It's supposed to look the same as the first, because it's a sequel to it. It won't play the exact same though because it's a sequel

I wanted more graveyard keeper and I'm glad its just more graveyard keeper. Too many sequels change the whole game loop that made the original fun. If I wanted something else I would just buy that instead

Agreed, it looks like more than just a two merged DLCs automation and tower defense mode and some quality-of-life updates.
There is a big jump in graphic quality though, so I'll wait for the first reviews,
